Blizzard makes World of Warcraft that cost 60 USD and 15 USD monthly subscription.
Gamers could play 30 hours a week or 120 hours a week; so that's 120 hours to 500 hours for the month.

Nintendo makes Pokemon that costs 35 USD and you'd probably buy both of them to get all pokemons.
N Gamers play them both for 2 days to a week; chuck them in a corner until the next pokemon game comes out.

Blizzard is the company for the gamers.

I dont get ur arguement. Like at all.

Your saying because it costs more and certain people play WoW more, Blizzard is a better company?

And seriously 120 hours a week?  That means u have 6.8 hours to sleep and eat and maybe something other than video games PER DAY.

Of course you don't understand.

You pay 60 USD, first month free, for one month.  And, yes, 120 hours a week.  People play that much.  30 hours a week for the people who are casual.

For Pokemon, you spend 35 USD for 2 days to a week investment.

Not really sure what you're trying to say, but Blizzard has a good track record so far and it seems like they're not afraid to pull the plug on games that don't meet their expectations, regardless of the hype surrounding them.

Blizzard has some good franchises too. Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo. Not too shabby. I can't wait to see what they come out with next.

Starcraft alone > All Nintendo's game.

Don't think so?  Starcraft invigorated the entire South Korea economy.

120 hours a week for those without lives outside of WoW

30 hours a week for those that have nothing to do after they get home for work...but 30 hours still seems like a bit much to me to be considered "casual".

I play maybe 5 hours a week on average...and I haven't played for over a week so far.

Pokemon will last a lot longer than just 2 weeks buddy... With the new battle and trade system the game can easily last someone 3-5 months.

It seems to be that way. For the love of all that is holy I hope he knows where his avatar is from. Collecting Pokemon has a similar appeal to collecting and racing cars.

I hate to break it to you buddy but even 30 hours/week for videogames isn't casual...more like 10 or 5 max.

Actually, the opposite.  Blizzard made this mmo friendly to people's schedules.  A working person could spend 5 hours a day and still actually have fun and progress in the game.

The people who plays 120 hours a week are those who are jobless and have enough money to live on for a few months or living at home.  Regardless, Blizzard catered to the whole wide variety of people.

Blizzard vs Nintendo is like Apples vs Orange. Why? Blizzard did not create any good console games yet but very good at PC. In Nintendo's case, it is the opposite. The question of Blizzard vs Nintendo is like a quesiton of PC vs Consoles, really!

I'm bored so I'm going to see how many many Blizzard characters I can list off the top of my head, for no reason at all.

Diablo: Andariel, Duriel, Baal, Mephisto, Diablo, Nihlithak, Izual, Lazarus, King Leoric, Wirt, Griswold (I can keep going on and on)

Starcraft: Kerrigan, Raymer, Zeratul, Duke, Fenix, Tassadar, The Overmind (I know I'm missing a few, but I can't remember names)

Warcraft: Grom Hellscream, Arthas, Uther (Thats all I remember, All the orc names sound the same)

yeah, you speak truth. there's something to be said for simple gameplay that just works, to the tune of being replayable every day for years. if xfire was around when d2 was popular, you'd be seeing some HUGE numbers for 'most played' on there..

Screw him. I go through a mysterious portal, kill tons of monsters, save his ass from a hanging cage, and he repays me with free identifies? Cheap bastard.

He charged you 100g all through the first game, no matter how many times you saved Tristram and ripped the soulstone of Diablo from the prince's body. :D IIRC of course.

It could be said that Nintendo saved gaming from the video game crash back in the 80's. :P
