If I go back in the mid-90s with this info, I'd probably get laughed out of the room.:P Then again bringing up the Wii itself would probably get me laughed out of the room as well.:P
Remember all those colors we saw when the Wii was first announced? LIES!Bread_or_Decide
Tell me about it.:( I wanted either a silver one or black one like it was originally shown to be, but nope! On the other hand, I wish there was a White/Platinum PS3 Slim when the Slim first came out.:P
I wonder if these ones will have the GC BC removed like the other holiday bundles? foxhound_foxIt has been confirmed that they will not be compatible with the Gamecube.
I thought it was going to be a dark blue like Sonic...not a stupid tar heel (sky) blue...oh well I'll pass.
edit...just read the part about no GC B/C,,,,forget it. Why would anyone want a Wii with no GC support?
Because buying a Gamecube that won't play Gamecube games is a good thing, apparently. No seriously, why Nintendo took out the one feature of the Wii that was like its biggest saving grace is beyond me.I thought it was going to be a dark blue like Sonic...not a stupid tar heel (sky) blue...oh well I'll pass.

They can easily retain the GCN compatibility AND bring the price down to $100.He... was talking about a Nintendo console being bundled with a Sonic and Mario crossover game... :?[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="Method214"] The Wii wasn't even out in the mid 90's :/.....sanim02

They can easily retain the GCN compatibility AND bring the price down to $100.I guess they want people to get over the GC BC by the time the Wii U is out... Oh I'm keeping my Wii that's for sure.:P Then again, I'm honestly not interested in the Wii U... Might get one cheap when the next Zelda is out I guess.

That's not even a good excuse! No seriously, no GCN compatibility in the Wii U, while a big bummer, I can live with, but for the Wii, which is a) essentially a Gamecube itself, and b) uses the Gamecube functionality extensively in many of its flagship titles (not to mention the other argument that the GCN library is what supplements the Wii library), there is no excuse whatsoever to chop out GCN compatibility. It is a rip off, and I hope people see it for what it is. It's like the Gameboy Micro, except the Micro, while losing backwards compatibility, was a redesign for a system with arguably the best library that generation. This is a redesign that cuts out on backward compatibility for a system that has arguably the WORST library for any mainstream system ever. As for the Wii U, I'm cautiously optimistic. I will adopt a wait and watch attitude.[QUOTE="sanim02"][QUOTE="charizard1605"] They can easily retain the GCN compatibility AND bring the price down to $100.charizard1605

I will adopt a wait and watch attitude.I agree that it is a rip off when the regular Wii with BC is around the same price as well, with Mario Kart Wii, (a much better game too::P), but similar to how Sony removed BC on PS3, they will probably do this to all future Wii's so that people get used to buying NGC games from their future eShop on their console. It is a bad idea, and it's simply annoying as a consumer if you don't own a Wii at least, but honestly there really isn't a point to buy a Wii anymore, besides Zelda or if you sold your Wii before and want a new one.
Not saying it's a good excuse, but this is pretty much what they are aiming for probably. Sony phased out all BC PS3's after the Slim was out and now they are selling HD Collections, so that may be the future with the Wii U as well. (I mean them remastering OOT and SF64 and them selling might have intrigued them to take it further..) ... On the contrary though, Sony did it to cut costs.:P
Also yeah, I'm not very optimistic, but rather mehh at the moment. I have games to look forward to in this generation and they have shown nothing I really want. Plus I don't want another 3DS incident to happen again.:P
