But it says 1 Million discs not players doesn't it? How did you get that title and then post 1 million as if you're talking about BR players. It's talking about sales of discs not players isn't it? Just like your title saysĀ

DVD is not in the same class as BD and HD-DVD. Stop comparing them.

It's not about comparing but about the discussion about when the next format is to be ushered in and DVD is far from dead.Ā

We all know DVD we be taken over but it's all about when.

Cause honestly VHS is just dying out now worldwide. Like I said many times before. Seagal has a career based on foreign audiences alone now and he makes his bugdets back or atleast half of it from VHS rentals alone to this day worldwide. But VHS is now dying worldwide where it's pretty already dead here for the most partĀ

So DVD, still wins by any argument, stand alone players sold, PC drives sold, the only argument it looses is the video and sound quality...

Ā Unlike Blu-Ray, consumers didn't need to buy an HDTV for DVD. Therefore, Blu-Ray won't pass DVD or it will take an extremely long time.

PS2 is/was beatting next gen, 56K was beating broadband, tapes where beating CDs etc....

You say that they force you to buy an HDTV but, doesn't anyone uses BR as back up for PC? I mean my monitor pulls HD as hermits like to brag and last time I was making a back up, a DVD wasn't enough.

It depends, watching black and white tv was enough back then, does that mean we have to watch it like that now?Ā
