I dont really want to play any games on ps3 since I already have a 360 and the only game I play is gears of war 2.

Well if you're interested in trying some games on the PS3 then go for it, it's a good deal. A $100 blu-ray player most likely isn't very good. I have a blu-ray player and a PS3 and the PS3 only cost $50 more: and it's just as good. Basically you're paying $50 for a game system, if you have any interest in it try. If you like Gears of War Uncharted 1 and 2 would be some games you might like, very different but they use the same type of cover and shooting system.

But obviously if you have no interest in playing games, buy a better Blu-Ray player. You'll still save money, not $200, but no reason to pay for what you won't use.

Is this a trick question? Get a Blu-Ray Player, just not that one. Get Sony or Samsung. Vizio might be pretty good as well, although I can't say since I haven't experienced one of their players yet.

Blu Ray player since the really only good thing about the PS3 is the exclusives, most multiplats are inferior anyways.

Don't get that Magnovox Blu-ray it's a piece of junk and doesn't have the internet connectivity that keeps them updated.

You can pick up a good Sony, or similar for around $150, even less if you belong to Costco or a similar club. I'd get the PS3, but if your not interested in the games on it then save yourself $150 and just get a good Blu-ray player, that can connect to the internet.

Just curious, do you already watch DVDs on your 360? Do you have it hooked up with HDMI? On a 1080p HDTV? If you do you will probably not see that much of a difference by getting a Blu-ray player. Well except for costs. To me on my TV BD discs and newer DVD's up converted look about the same. Yeah I know some people on here will say there is a dramatic difference. Most of them are trying to push the superiority of the PS3, but really the differences are very subtle.

The only true big difference is on older DVDs vs Blu-ray. Then there is a bigger difference.

If money is a problem, stick with that cheap blu ray player.

If you want to play some PS3 games then get a PS3. but if you just want the BluRay Player then get the BluRay player.

I don't know about those Blu-Ray players but the PS3 can stream all of your media from all the computers in your house to your TV in full 1080p HD.

Something to consider.

Why would you buy a blu ray player that can't play all of the blu rays?

1. CPU/GPU better than other Blu-ray players
2. Firmware Updatable,
3. can play BR 3D movies after firmware upgrade
4. can play Netflex movies and movies, shows, from PSN
5. can try out a PS3 game.
6. ...

They are both the same thing in my house. My PS3 couldn't stand up to playing games and died only a month after the warranty expired. That was not a nice $180 repair bill. So, now I have an oversized George Foreman bluray player.
