I wonder why poeple always put Halo when it comes to sales :?.. Halo is gone imo :P MW2 pretty much outsold it.. i think :P.. anyways im glad for U2 and Sony.. Cant wait for Uncharted 3!

How is this system wars? UC2 outsold a random multiplat. Why exactly is this surprising/a victory? Borderlands actually sold quite well for a new IP. It still DEFINETLY should be outsold by the big bad UC2, GotY etc etc. I just dont exactly see the point in comparing UC2's sales to Borderlands. I love borderlands, but as a multiplat its sales dont really matter for SWs.

Look at it this way. UC2 got outsold by Halo ODST, an extremely clearly overpriced exclusive expansion. Who knows what it is, more xbox's out there used for gaming, lemmings more willing to shell out their wallets for anything... but 3.5 mil, while superb, arent exactly recordbreaking.

Borderlands is a new franchise which is targets a niche audience (FPS RPG concentrating on a huge loot system), whilst UC2 was the sequel to one of the PS3's best games and hyped to high heaven, with the scores to match. Go figure.

Borderlands was good its a bit of a sleeper hit and a lot more fun than i ever thought so glad i randomly decided to pick it up thinking it would last me a weekend 3 weeks later im still playing away on it.

Was it not the cows who would always claim anything above 1 million is excellent? Now it's anything above 3 million?

yea if Borderlands was a massive flop, somebody should really tell 2k O.o . Im sure they'd love to know.

I personally loved Borderlands, and 3 mil sales is pretty good. I cant speak for Gearbox, but id be that they wwerent hoping for much better than that, if not less. It was favorably reviewed by the critics, sold 3 mil games... I mean you just cant call it a flop, dunno what else to say.

Is it a Demo? yes but do we count it? of course its exclusuve and it was retailed and sold like hotcakes, no LBP also sold above that and KZ2 as well ( remember seeing a thread about it last year and too lazy to search for it ) if you look at it both systems both have over 3 mil sellers

Uncharted 2 sold well in my eyes but I wish it sold better seeing the games calibur. Although, I'm sure ND is happy with the sales and critical reponse the game is getting.:)

3Mill is good sales. 3.5 is good sales too but exclusives like Uncharted 2 usually set their bar higher since it's only on ONE platform, hence the term (exclusive).

Agreed. It's funny how 3 million is a flop now though, considering any game achieving 3 million is a pretty big feat. A lot of games only settle around 1-2 million.

Unless System Wars starts unanimously declaring Nintendo and the Wii the winner, sales don't matter for games or consoles. We're debating quality on SW, if we depended on sales we'd be a happy family of Nintendo lovers who like Microsoft a bit and don't like Sony. But we aren't, and until that day sales are pointless on SW.

I own both , but I play borderlands ten times more and its def. one of my favorite games of this gen, i cant wait for dlc!

and of course its not gonna sell alot right out the gate,, ITS A NEW IP and it has a different art style.
