Why oh why don't they actually make a real next gen seqeul to Final Fantasy Tactics.. We have plenty of traditional JRPG's.. Why couldn't they have made a Strategy RPG?sSubZerOoWe have? I'm starving for a really good one (persona 4 has yet to come out in europe). You want a freaking awesome Strategy rpg? Get Valkyria Chronicles. If that is to "innovative" for you , then get Dissidia 3.

But games like Final Fantasy Tactics were completely unique to the series, and far more indepth in gameplay mechanics.. Tha being said there are a few strategy rpgs that are non handheld I have seen.. Disgaea for the PS3 is one of them.. To me I think the reason why they won't do it is because it will be too tough for the majority of people, which would alienate their player base imo.
Never played a FF game and i never will. Too g*y for mekrp008
Gamer Poser comes to mind reading your post
Let me guess... you played a half dozen FPS and a GTA or two and now you think you are "hardcore". Fable must be the best RPG ever right?
FF XIII and it will outsell FF XIII on ps3 and Vs XIIInaruto7777
You do know that FF 13 is exclusive on PS3 in japan right and japan loves FF games. So im guessing that will help the PS3 version sells. Also im guessing those who just bought a PS3 for ff13 will still get it on PS3. I mean they got it for that reason.
[QUOTE="mbrockway"]Versus looks like a cooler universe, but that one (and only) in-engine seen at the end didn't look too hot.Sgt_HaleIf any of that was in engine then it looked great, b/c I couldn't really tell the difference. I could tell the in engine portion of FF XIII, but even that still looked great stacked up against current 'next gen' rpgs. The scene with him walking up the stairway in the business suit towards the blonde. Faces looked horrible, nothing at all like the cgi we've been shown.
[QUOTE="-DrRobotnik-"][QUOTE="Dahaka-UK"] If versus takes the fantasy out of final fantasy then so did FF6, 7, 8, & 10. :|Dahaka-UK.....um how so? Well think about it... He's saying versus isnt fantasy obviously because of the vehicles and teh guns all of which are in those 4 games. :|
I think he was complimenting the CGI. It's more like Final Reality.
I like Versus better, one thing because it's protagonist is male unlike FFXIIIjmdude
I thought I was the only one. I cant explain it,but I just feel werid playing as a female protagonist. There are some games that I can bear it like metroid, but most I ignore for that reason.
Something I cannot fathom and genuinely want to know why... How come FF13 and FFV13 share the same number? Is V13 a sort of related story? What are the differences?LeejjohnoAll three games follow the Fabula Nova Crytallis Myth. All three games are apart of it. They aren't related in anyway. Each director has a take on what the crystals mean in thier story and they will tell the story in thier fashion. The only thing linking them is that Nomura does the character designs technically. Kind of glad to, im tired of seeing all these boring character designs nowadays. We need something new for a change. although SO4 has some cool ones too

The setting an the enviroment don't change weather it's fantasy or not. There is plent of fantasy in that trailer. Anyway dungeons, dragons and villages is generic as hell now. Also, in the trailer it does it indeed say it's a realistic fantasy, therefore its excusable, thats what square is aiming for. It's also what FF fans want. FF12 sucked.[QUOTE="Leejjohno"]Something I cannot fathom and genuinely want to know why... How come FF13 and FFV13 share the same number? Is V13 a sort of related story? Treat me like a total n00b here but what is a Fabula Nova Crytallis Myth? And you mentioned 3 games, what was the 3rd?
