Yes, i buy both versions of a lot of my MP shooter games due to the fact i have friends on both my friends list that i play with and also because i can afford it. i bought the PS3/360 versions of Bad Company 2 today.. Played 2 squad rush matches for each console, in both matches on the PS3 nearly everyone had mics, with the 360 it was almsot all silent with the exception of maybe one or two players on the team having mics.
ive been saying it for months now, more people on PSN use mics during MP games than 360.. Go see for yourself, go play Halo 3, Forza 3, COD4, or Gears 2 on 360 and you will find that almsot all matches are nearly ghost towns because everyone is in party chat.. On my PS3 i play MW2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, MAG and Bioshock 2 and i almost always hear people with mics, most of the times atleast half the players in the match have mics on.. MAG especially nearly every match i play in mag more than half my squad mates have mics.
I really hope Sony doesnt make the same mistake with PSN and have party chat, i hate when i play online and it feels silent and like a ghost town. That was one thing that made xbox live so much better back a few years ago was users with mics, now aside from MW2 noone uses mics on 360 anymore.
