Well the PS3 80gb model is up 1050% in sales since the price drop to $499. The $399 40gb comes Oct 28th.

they were criticising Sony for their built-in BR player because Sony was saying how great it would be for gaming. The built in HDDVD player is for movies only not games.

2. 2009?!... releasing a SKU 3 years after original release WTF that's 2 years before the next XBOX

3. It will cost more than the Elite and I cant even afford that

4. You can already buy a 360 HD-DVD player and it price will only get lower

I love these myths and fables in SW. So, during a lot of blu-ray/HD-DVD format discussions it has been brought up that porn was the main propellant for VHS. There's no denying that. But what has also been discussed is the fact that porn doesn't rely on tangible media like they did in the 80's. there's this new thing called the internet. Besides, I don't think the porn industry has all together made a decision on which format to go with.

But here we are, seeing an ignorant post about how HD-DVD has the porn industry and how it will win. Funny stuff.

What you really should be worried about is capacity, not Transformers, Shrek 3, or Spiderman. If you think particular titles are going to win this war, you are missing something. Its about games AND movies. Both of which need capacity to keep their high definition quality.

Blu-ray KILLS HD-DVD on capacity. It takes at least two layers on HD-DVD to do what blu-ray does with one layer.

You slide around it. Why did they add HDMI to 360's only after PS3 had it? Why are they adding WiFi only after PS3 had it? They are adding HD DVD because PS3 has BR DVD. MS is following Sony's PS3 yet Lems criticise the PS3 for having these great features. Stop criticising and dismissing the great features of the PS3 because MS is copying all of them 1 by 1.

Unnecessary and nice to have are TWO different things. Sony made it seem as if this gen could not be great WITHOUT Blu-Ray which is SO not true as 360 and wii games prove. Having a built in next gen player is fine, but NOT required in order to enjoy games. Please get the facts straight.

I guess sony will have this whole gen to prove the lemmings wrong about bluray.

at the very least, in the ps3 the built in bluray can be used for gaming, while the built in HDDVD in the 360 never can
