All the companies want is your cash. If they could anyone of those companies would strong-arm the industry. (like Nintendo already did)Tony-Baxter
To be fair to Nintendo though, they have still maintained their brand promise: More mario and zelda games.
The nintendo brand-loyal zombies sure love some mario and zelda, and nintendo (despite chasing the casuals) has maintained that.

Yeah dude you're barking up the wrong tree. Thats your opinion on value, something which i couldn't give a flying fuk about.
Im talking about quality online service here, price is irrelevant. PSN being free does not make it the better service.
And LOL I think ill stick to just chatting to my group of friends while we play different games over XBL instead of calling them all up on the phone and speaking to them one at a time. You're a fuking idiot.
I like the brand my PC is which is a MUTT. What a mongrel of a device. But, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I've never really been 'brand loyal', but I do like that it gives companies an incentive to produce products worth being loyal for.
It should be important for companies to maintain their reputation, and have a consistency and meet certain quality standards. It shouldn't just be something meaningless you pay extra for, it should be about trust.

Yeah but companies are and have used "brand loyalty" as a crutch for selling products since the early days of consumerism.
/BAck in the 1920's ...."Want to buy some wheat?" *slaps consumer on back and grins ear to ear* "Your welcome back anytime, Joe!"
. . . It is like Pavlovianconditioning. Companies still do that stuff.

Not paying for PSN does make it the better eservice for me. The only think xbl is party chat and I CAN use my fone for that. And you can call more then one person at once its called a conference call, and if you have the right phone package its free moron, plus you can do it anywhere not stuck to the wireless range of your xbox 360 controller. Do I do this while paying games? no its distracting. I talk to my friends paying them same game I am. Just because you and you're friends have sh*tty phone service planns, and lack the organizational skills to all get on the same game at the same time isn't my problem, but it certainly doesn't make your service any better. And Price is a factor weather *you* think it is or not. GS even has a little icon they put in the pros section for a game that does something well. the "more bang for your buck" award. If its good enough for a gamespot reviewer then its good enough for me.Depends. Being "loyal" to a developer that consistently puts their fans first and puts out quality game after quality game after quality game is really not that ridiculous.
Of course, there's a difference between being a "loyal fan" and being a blind fanboy. Fanboys are never really fans because they have lost the ability to criticize the things they love.

And you look like a hypocrit who is doing the same thing for more Halo. Halo, or Stalo as it should be called, is the same damn thing again and again with the same multiplayer again and again. The Halo series is among THE most casual series ever.I've seen some people who seriously believe Nintendo and Sony just make games for the fans and not for their money. It's amazing how blind people can be.tagyhag
I do not think that forums like SW really help doing away with the fanboymentality.
Someone (anyone, really) could get overly excited about a Nintendo reveal and post the news here on SW and *boom* get bombarded with libelous slander. Than that person kind of withdraws further out of reality and into this weird intrenet shell. Pretty soon he/she wonders "Maybe I do only like Nintendo and all these other people are just haters." Seriously, I am so happy I actually got a games system to pry me into actual, first hand gaming culture, because that actually disciplined me to not be part of the whole "forum lurking, caring what strangers online think of me" addiction.:)
It would be better if people were not so reactionary and thought of the consequences before posting things on line that might get their feelings hurt (or post stuff with the intent of hurting other peoples feelings). Use your damn head, people.
I am preaching. I know.Feels good. :)
I really like Nintendo, especially Mario games, since i grew up with a Nes and a Snes. Between the old Sega and current Sony and Microsoft, ill allways go with the console that have the games i prefer. Two gens ago it was the Playstation, last gen it was PS2 + Xbox, and this gen the 360.
Isnt System Wars based around brand loyality? People want to argue all day about which brand they are the most loayl too, even if they are a bad brand LOL
It is ridiculous. No one will admit the brand they support has any faults

I don't really understand what point you're trying t make here.
But I will say that on the topic of "brand loyalty" that there are two sides to that stance. If it doesn't get in the way of your appreciation for all that's available, even from the competition, then there's nothing wrong with it. I love and worship Nintendo more than any other gaming company in existence. But I own all platforms and a PC and support them regularly. Not to mention that I even prefer the PS3 to the Wii. Yet I still love Nintendo more. I am "loyal" to them. When it clouds one's ability to see what else is out there and are great gaming experiences, that's when in it becomes an issue and tends to create narrow-minded, pompous, stuck up and EXTREMELY uneducated fanboys.
IMO of course.
Hey, i thought in another thread you said you were a girl..how does that work... unless... -or do I have you confused with someone else..?Nintendo was my childhood. They can have my children and wife if they want.

Brand loyalty is important for companies. They need a loyal fanbase they can always turn to when they are in the sh*tter. It's as bad as music artist fans like Gaga's lil monsters or Team Breezy lmao... But they need it for exposure and word of mouth.

hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahha baying 60$ to play online while it's for free on the other console makes it the best online console :lol:I'm only a PC loyalist, but in all honesty there's nothing bad about that at all.
You're a fan of something you built and customized with your own two hands, and a little bit of your own blood too (sometimes those cases can be sharp!).

IT already has 80% ( or more ) of the features of XBL & its free.
If someone offered you a deal of 100 cookies for $60 ( XBL ) or 80 cookies for free ( PSN ), what would be the better deal?
If I was 13 years old reading this, with Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 in my hand, I would agree. But then we all have to grow up, and we either stay there or grow out of it. AhhhhHH Hell, who am I kidding?! I love me some Mario and Zelda. :lol:Nintendo was my childhood. They can have my children and wife if they want.

You and me both, brother. I'm pretty sure most of the people on SW don't even like games.
These is nothing wrong with brand loyalty. However being so blindly obsessed that you hate another brand just because it is competition to your favorite brand..now that's just nuts.
