BRAND NEWS: PGR4 gets the Pefect 10 (AAAA) at OXM

Doesn't surprise me as I have hyped it AAA.

Halo 3 getting 9 at the official xbox magazine seems low.. and PGR4 getting 10 seems really awesome..

More tracks too. Why not, weather and bikes is quite a big addition to what some games add to the mix.

This is after all the game they wanted PGR3 to be but couldn't make due to time constraints.

I remember OXM gave Bioshock a 10, and I think they were the first review out. Everyone mocked it because it's OXM, and look what happened. Now I'm not saying PGR4 = Bioshock, but OXM ain't that bad. They're certainly no Play Magazine, who's even worse than Maxim if that's possible. OXM has given poor reviews before.

And I know it came out for PC too, but it should also be noted that they gave Overlord a 6/10.

I don't know why people are so down on PGR4, anyway. Looks awesome. DiRT got an 8.5 and people would be that surprised if PGR4 netted a 9.0? Please. PGR 3 itself scored with the current system would have been a 9. And no, that wasn't a diss against DiRT. I have it and think it's fun.

The Gran Turismo 5 Pro vs PGR4 showdown will now be very interesting. Even though they are slightly different styles of racers, if PGR looks and plays better than GT5pro it will be devastating to the Playstation brand. If GT5 isn't head and shoulders better looking then one of the major selling points of PS3 is gone.

It appears that Gran Turismo 5 puts all its horsepower into the car models, which unfortunately are seldom seen close up during actual racing gameplay. The environments look rather poor, plus it currently has no damage modeling and no weather. It seems Bizzare took the completely opposite approach, instead of using 10 billion polys per car, they recreated amazing environments, added eye-catching weather effects (which effect and add to the gameplay), visual damage, and bikes.

No one is claiming ownage, but just pleased that a mag that gave Halo 3 9.0, gave PGR4 a 10. Believe it or not, some people are more excited about PGR than they are Halo.

I don't know if GS have the balls to do that. The game must be deserving it, of course.

Does'nt surprise me at all. PGR3 was awesome to say the least, and even if they only would've made a few changes to PGR4, it would still be AAA. And I've bought OXM for years, and trust me, they can be downright brutal on reviews at times. I really don't think they're biased at all.xboxdevil

I've loved PGR since it was MSR on the Dremcast, i've played them all to death (especially PGR2 on XBL). From the sounds of it they have improved on EVERYTHING, PGR3 was an 8.8 game so why shouldn't all this new stuff push it up to 9.0? The only complaints I had about PGR3 were Lack of Cities (compared to PGR2) and not much diversity in the car selection, well these things have been fixed (and gone beyond by even adding Bikes!).

I think it has a pretty good Chance of AAA, i'm not saying it's 100% but I think it may pull through.

Thats what i was thinking, there must be lots of other huge improvements though, because PGR3 was far from a good game.

1. What if they like a different company better, but don't have money for a Wii/Ps3

2. Has the thought ever crossed your mind that not everyone on Earth shares your opinion? I myself like Nintendo, since I've been with them since the start, but I don't hate other companies.

Before you call me a fanboy the only reason I don't like Halo is because it's an FPS, same reason I don't like Metroid Prime. I want to play Crackdown, Drake's Fortune, Dead Rising, Ratchet & Clank Future, and many other non-Nintendo games, but I'm not gonna go buy a system just to play about 2 or 3 games. On Wii, I will buy (and enjoy) SSBB, SMG, No More Heroes, BWii, RE:UC, and many, many more. The thing about Nintendo games is that they have a special charm about them that I can't describe, but it's something I only feel when I play other games (I realize NMH, RE: UC aren't Nintendo, but that doesn't stop them from being good, they just don't have that charm)

One thing I like about Bizarre is they at least attempt to listen to their fans and what they want. I hope this game does really well because for some reason, I've not really taken to Forza 2 like I did the original.
