brawl doesn't deserve 9.5

1. fighting system is not deep, its about being cheap with moves and getting lucky with items and moving around the environment. In honest opinion it is fun with ur friends but it is seroiusly NOT a deep fighting system, more of a button masher.

2. graphics of last gen. This alone should drop it 5pts. like seroiusly, each generation = better graphics, not the SAME.

3. online play with friend codes. psh. at this day and age, friend codes are bad. protect kids? give parents opntion to turn mic off. because at this day and age, such limitations shouldn't happen. and if the kid is able to go online and have a wii, im pretty sure the parents should know how to turn some settings offs, parental control anyone?

4. u dont use the wiimote fully, this alone should drop one full letter grade.

8.2 is more of a deserving grade

9.5 is simple TOO HIGH

not trying to be hating and all, but 9.5???? (gamespot getting paid by nintendo to give high ratings like how eidos tried to pay a while back? i dunno, highly likely) thats a little too high for a game that is like last gens version but with more char, more unlockables, and a cheap online mode.

but w.e. if this games gives u a chance to ask that girl in class to come over and play, good for u.

This reminds me of the Halo 3 damage control.

But every thread like that had 5 straight replies consisting only of "9.5".

It got several perfect 10's.

9.5 is the lowest it could have recieved.

Second: The fighting system may appear shallow, but with the improved mechanics in these game you can do combos, advanced techniques, etc. By this I mean the game is pretty deep, and when pros start finding some glitches, it will be more deep.

Third, last-gen graphics? It looks impressive for the Wii and runs in a constant 60 FPS, I dont know what you are talking about.

Fourth: Online play, although shallow, it is quite good, since you don't get lag. You can also fight with random players or share your FC in the forums.

Lol at your last point: There is an option which lets you move your arms if you want, but I think you don't like to move your arms since you like to bash the Wii, so this point is quite useless.

And finally, HAVE you PLAYED it?

2. It's still a great-looking game, and I'd rather hang onto my extra $150 than spend it on a more powerful system for better graphics

"its about being cheap with moves" Skilled players can easily own noobs who are "cheap with moves." It's about knowing when and how to use the moves.

"and getting lucky with items" They have it so that you can turn off the items for a reason. Or have you not playe it, or read about that option, that has been in the games since before Brawl was announced. ;)

"and moving around the environment." Skilled players will know where and how to use the environment to their advantage. It's not luck, it's skill.

You can learn techniques (AKA skills) which you can use to own noobs who button-mash. To support your claim, I'll add this:

By that logic, Final Fantasy VII shouldn't have been AAA because it didn't use orchestrated music, one of the big points of the PS1. And Super Mario World shouldn't have been one of the GGOATS because of its lack of Mode 7. Just because you have soemthing doesn't mean you must use it. But hey, maybe you're the guy who wants to go all around the bases on the first date (just because you feel obliged to use it just for having it).
