Brawl Over-rated *poll*

I personally dont understand why most nintendo fanboys or w/e get so excited over the new super smash bros. The game looks like a darn kiddy game lol. Graphics are nothing special, makes me go more iik than sick. Ive played previous super smash bros, including the one on the gamecube and n64, it has its moment but I just dont see it as this *great* game.

Because the game is really fun and simple, but that simplicity is what makes it so hard when it gets down to a 1v1 between 2 people; they start making up their own combos. Its fun. I don't think it'll score AAA as none of the other ones have, but it'll atleast be an 8.5. Maybe a 9DivergeUnify

I think people overhype it. The chances of it getting AAA are kind of slim at least here at GS. I mean look back at their past reviews they gave the original Smash Bros. a 7.5. A SEVEN POINT FIVE!!! For what is arguably the most innovative fighting game ever? GS obviously hates Smash Bros.

If you look at the sticky and see those MP3 and Warhawk hype threads, those don't go by gamespot scores. They go by the press average score of the games. I'm doing the same here. According to the press average, Melee has a 9.0, therefore AAA.

You sort of have to grow up in the NES and SNES days to apprechiate the Smash Brother Series. If you did and don't care, then you're a rather cynical gamer.

Once the game is released, we can properly judge on it's potential overratedness. We'll know for sure then.NathanHawkins

You know what, that is largely true. Granted (as you may well realize) there are exceptions to every case, but there is little doubt that longtime gamers feel less than an affiliation with Nintendo. Good point for the majority of older gamers. Not all of course, but proving otherwise is sometimes hard to argue as a whole is concerned. :) Ninty does draw in a lot of younger gamers as well...and welcome to the pack!

I just bought Melee and flaunting a high score from a respectable score about it makes me feel good about buying it. :)

SSB = a blast to play with 4 people. anything less or single player = a waste of time and is boring as sin. And this is why if they don't have Online Multi in SSB it will automaticall PHAIL and HARD !shaggymcp

If he doesnt even know what the short hop laser is, then I doubt hes invested ANY time into melee at all.

Remember kiddies, Melee is MLG's fighter of choice. That in itself is a testament to how good the game is.

The score for the series are climbing, rather than going down. Brawl is offering way more than what melee is offering. its basically a total package over melee, which means if Nintendo add online mode, this could truly be a AAA game.

Depends, do you mean cartonish as in cellshadded games? If so then no, thiers some cool games out thier that are cell shaded. If your talking about games like brawl and sponge bob? then yes. lawl

Compare him in this picture to a picture with the up comming metal gear for ps3, he looks very kiddy in this one. Just look at that background.

I want to see an end to the word over-hyped because as soon as one person disagrees with the opinion of a million it is declared over-hyped. BTW how new are you to gaming and Gamespot forum because you dont realize graphics are not the best thing in gaming. MANY will tell you that.

EDIT: Because a game is not rated M doesnt mean its "kiddy"
