BREAKING NEWS
Earlier this morning, a press release was leaked and posted on a Polish gaming blog.
Now, I happen to frequent Polish gaming blogs quite often, and I managed to see this page, and take a screenshot of the leaked press release before it was taken down.
SCREENSHOT:
For those of you who don't speak Polish, allow me to offer a brief summary:
"Bethesda Softworks, the developer of such acclaimed titles as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Fallout 3, have a new project in development, and we have learned through very special sources that this next project is a sequel to acclaimed RPG masterpiece Planescape: Torment!"
"According to our source, this title is being referred to internally as Planescape: Torment 2, and will continue the adventures of 'The Nameless One' in an exciting first person hack and slash title."
The game starts with the Nameless One being delivered to Sigil by boat having served his time in hell, and will revolve around the player trying to stop The Lady of Pain from opening gates to an evil dimension and destroying the world, whilst simultaneously trying to find his long lost father! The game will feature fast paced action, and the revolutionary feature of randomized dungeons, something that will doubtlessly come into play as you journey about closing the dozens of 'Pain Gates' that litter the Sigil countryside. And yes, you read that right, Sigil will now have countryside, an enormous 30km world with rolling hills and beautiful scenery, a wonderful change of pace when compared to the orginal's ugly cityscapes!"
"Planescape: Torment 2 has no release date, or platform announcements as of yet, but Bethesda will doubtlessly release this information as time goes on, so hold on, and stay very excited for this matching of a great developer with a great game series!"
Guys, this is the best news I've seen in along time!
I can't wait to pummel Cranium Rats in FIRST PERSON with a giant mace! I just hope Bethesda takes out some of that annoying writing, I mean, I don't know about you, but I play video games to KILL stuff, not to READ stuff.
To sum up my feelings:
