Breaking: Nintendo announces E3 2021 plans Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Treehouse: Live

Nintendo has finally announced its plans for E3 2021.

Nintendo's activities will take place on the final day of the show, June 15. A 40-minute Nintendo Direct will air at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM in the UK / 6 PM in Europe, featuring Switch titles "mainly releasing in 2021." Nintendo Treehouse: Live will take place directly after “for around three hours of deep dives on gameplay."

Tune in at 9 a.m. PT for a Nintendo Direct presentation, featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused exclusively on Nintendo Switch games mainly releasing in 2021. Immediately after the Nintendo Direct, continue watching for around three hours of deep dives on gameplay for a handful of Nintendo Switch games in Nintendo Treehouse: Live.

While this year’s E3 is going virtual, everyone is invited to tune in to Nintendo’s digital activities on June 15. Both the Nintendo Direct video presentation and Nintendo Treehouse: Live livestream can be viewed at https://www.nintendo.com/e3/.

I'm not expecting anything worth getting excited about from Nintendo this year. I think every one of their franchises is on Switch in some format except Metroid which is supposedly in the works, and then F-Zero and Starfox which are both dead.

I am always excited for Nintendo Directs. 😐 Really, I am enthused. 😑

4K next-gen Switch as rumors promise or go home. We don't need 40 minutes of Miitopia DLC and Mario Party 18.

I expect nothing less than next-gen 4K Switch or I will be severely disappointed.

BotW sequel is a given if it's releasing this year, less likely if it's for next year. We have the Donkey Kong and 2D Metroid rumors as well. Hopefully SMTV date as well, and of course Smash DLC. Probably new Pokemon trailers as well. Maybe some surprises.

If the revision is real, it'll be announced tomorrow. Multiple retailers have leaked listings that should go live on Friday.

Nintendo is a beast I hope things turn out for a great show im playing hades and rocket league on m y switch now a days

No wonder Sony doesn't want to show face.

Nice ... looking forward to it, hopefully we will know something about so many missed games as well as new surprises, the last Smash DLC and of course what we all want, the new Switch.

Has he potential to be the most interesting show in all E3, but we all know Nintendo loves to drop the ball every once in a while in this events.

Let me guess... Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Smash, Pokemon.

Oh, by the way, the "focused exclusively on Switch games" part means that no hardware will be announced there. So, either there's no new hardware or it'll be announced elsewhere.

Metroid Prime Collection & Metroid Prime 4 announcements is all I want to see if we're lucky to get anything out of Metroid news.

@FireEmblem_Man: That actually brings up a good point. Switch has been handled by Nintendo mostly as a handheld by a large margin. Seems to me that Switch's main competitor is now the mobile gaming market... not Playstation or Xbox. Different markets with a bit of crossover.

If you put them against mobile they will be a major underdog.

@Pedro: True but I would take Switch over any mobile phone or tablet as it still uses traditional controls.

Still, interesting to think about given that as of Switch Lite, Nintendo took that extra step out of the console business to move more into a mobile market focus.

At this point, I'll take whatever Metroid game I can get.
