Well me and a lot of other people its a make or break. I was going to go one day to pre order this game on my lunch break until a friend told me it had no versus multiplayer so i decided not to pre order it. Im sorry, but if your epic games and dont have any online versus multiplayer for a FPS then thats just plain lazy. nothing more nothing lessIs it that big of a deal? Not every shooter "has" to have competitive multiplayer. Most shooters are better with it, I agree, but not everyone has to have it.

Seriously. What the hell was epic games thinking. Its a in your face first person shooter with aliens and cool guns made by the same studio that brought us Gears of war and Unreal Tournament and yet it has no versus multiplayer whatsoever. What a huge fail of epic proportions (no pun intended)HelghastXtremeYour whole complaint is thrown off right there.
It will depend on how much single player action the game has. If we talking 20 hrs of gameplay + 2 to 5 hours of cutscenes and a reason to replay over and over... then Screw multiplayer.

People Can Fly is owned by Epic....:o
It would probably end up being extremely generic. I couldn't see any useful way to implement the skill shots into versus MP without it feeling too cheap.
it kinda does...for the type of game it is, it requires it..because there is little to make you go back and do it again. Is it that big of a deal? Not every shooter "has" to have competitive multiplayer. Most shooters are better with it, I agree, but not everyone has to have it.

But the actual epic team isn't working on the game.right, because clearly if a game has no mulitplayer then it sucks......
Honestly, we need more single player only games these days.

But the actual epic team isn't working on the game. Then how does that work when you think about huge companies like BioWare that have multiple teams underneath them... Do we have to specifically say BioWare Edmonton, and make that distinction? Because I don't see many people doing that... It's a double standard of sorts. People are just comforted by the fact that the names are different so they are easily distinguishable.Just because an epic shooter doesnt have multiplayer doesnt mean it sucks. For example..... .> "Looks for Master Shake " .>

anyways, I'm really looking forward to this game, it looks great.
You are so right. People act like MP is the end all be all of gaming. It's not.right, because clearly if a game has no mulitplayer then it sucks......

Cliffy B had a lot to do with the development if you saw any of the interview videos. The whole concept was his and he just had PCF execute it. Also on the wiki for Bulletstorm it says this:
"Bulletstorm is an upcoming 2011 first-person shooter video game developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games"

people are way too wrapped up in multiplayer these days and they dont have any appreciation of singleplayer campaigns. this **** is out of hand.
Who cares.

Hey look at that, I was right. Yay for logical reasoning.
What was the reasoning behind not putting in traditional multiplayer modes like team deathmatch and so on?
It's a fair question, and I guess it's one of those situations where you have to look at what it would take to build a traditional team deathmatch in this game. We empower the player through the verbiage and the weapons so much that if you were in multiplayer on the receiving end of that, it would be the most agonising, unpleasant experience. It is a solvable problem, I do believe, but it would basically require building an entirely new game that is in many ways not even Bulletstorm. The flail gun, for example, where you wrap up enemies for up to 6 seconds, which would be an eternity if you're playing an online first person shooter. People in Gears of War, where we'd have a pause for half a second for an explosion or something, were raging, they wanted to keep moving. It could be something that could happen, but in this day and age, with the Wild Wild West nature of Xbox Live or PSN, where for every friend made there's someone insulting you, I'm a fan of co-op. I like the idea of four players teaming up, cracking open some beers and having a good time together.

Honestly though hes right in a way. I aint sure how long this is but a full priced game needs some incentive to keep playing especially a shooter
I reckon this game is like the Vanquish of the FPS, but it looks alot better. And Vanquish was apparently fine without mp so its fine
Sliding into enemies, leashing them and booting them, considering they all put the target into slo-mo for a brief period, would likely have to be removed from any competitive multiplayer mode.
Without those features the game wouldn't be as fun.
I don't know how well skillshots would work in MP either.
it has coop..not everything needs versus...whats next.. deus ex with mp?campzorDeus Ex already had mp.
The game has multiplayer people. And it's really fun. It's like a mission-based horde mode where you get to compete for points against your friends by stringing off the most rediculous combos imaginable and getting the highest score. There's no issue of replayability here. It's really fun MP.
you complain about it not having it but if it did, would you play it? of course you wouldnt! Look at Bioshock, everyone wanted multiplayer, it got it and now its forgotten (for those of you who do play i apologize). Versus multiplayer is taken by Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, Gears of War, and Killzone...you could also add Resistance and Uncharted to a lesser extent but thats my opinion, since I focus more on the story in those games. Not every game needs it, Bulletstorm is one of them
This need for multiplayer in every game is getting out of hand. It should come to a point where single player and multiplayer games are separate and not shoe-horned into one package. The best examples would be The Witcher (single player only) and Team Fortress 2/Counter Strike (multiplayer only). The quality of both games is not affected by adding either a single player mode or multiplayer mode for either.
For Bulletstorm, the developers should be allowed to make the game they want without being criticized for not adding competitive multiplayer. It's not required and would only serve to hurt the single player mode, especially with how the game is played. The demo alone should give you a clue why competitive multiplayer would be horrible. You even named 2 other games from Epic that has competitive multiplayer. Why don't you just play those or play the surplus of multiplayer games that are out there?
Bulletstorm doesn't come across as a game where "story" is a strong element. Gameplay, visuals, and multiplayer are the saving graces for this type of game. Especially coming from Epic, a company with a strong VS Multiplayer focus in their past, and virtually no strong story in any of their games (even Gears), having no competitive VS multiplayer actually hurts this game. Story and environment rich games like Bioshock and Dead Space cramming in VS Multiplayer I don't agree with, but a game like Bulletstorm almost needs it as a crutch. People will get bored of this game fast.
please don't lure him in here.Just because an epic shooter doesnt have multiplayer doesnt mean it sucks. For example..... .> "Looks for Master Shake " .>

There's about a billion of those.
i heard that its cause a competative MP in a normal Deathmatch form just wouldnt work with the gameplay mechanics the game touts.
Besides its good that instead of focusing on the competative MP that they have instead diverted their attention into other areas.I personally look forward to the Coop the most tbh.
