Both. Since Microsoft published Halo 3 they will still recieve a large amount of the profit and I'm willing to be they will still publish some of Bungies games.

MS will publish any Bungie titles that they want to put their name on as part of their aggreement with the developer. Bungie is free to make any games they wish for who they want, but MS has right to first refusal on any games that the company makes. So basically, if Bungie makes a game and it looks to be an amazing new I.P., dont count on it landing anywhere but on a MS console and maybe PC! Also, MS holds the rights to the Halo name and franchise, so any future Halo projects will also only be on a MS console or PC unless MS chooses to share it!!! So PS3 and Wii fanboys should not be getting too excited about this as a blow to the XBOX 360 or to MS!!

Don't any of the lead devs or key devs profit from Halo's sucess? I imagine they have stock in Bungie, but I don't quite know how stock works.

i dont think thats quite how it works if bungie want to make a game on maybe the wii microsoft cant do nothing about it but they will receive some profit from it as they hold a small stake in bungie. the rest about halo would be correct
