I'm a big halo fan, believe me if you want to, it's your choice. I do believe that the Halo series is one of the best out there.

It takes Bungie about 3 years to finish a game at the least. They've only been working on Halo 3 for 2 years. I have a feeling that the only reason Bungie is trying to get the game finished by the holidays is because of Microsoft's desperate attempt to make money this holiday season. I don't think that Bungie is truly as finished with that game as they would like to be. If you're a true fan of Halo, you would agree.

You wouldn't care how much it sells. You wouldn't care if it is better than the competition's game lineup. All you would care about is if the game is good. All you would care about is if Bungie has made a game that lives up to the gameplay and story telling of the first 2 games.

I thought Halo 1 and 2 were some of the best games I've ever played and I am looking forward to halo 3. But I wouldn't care if it came out this holiday season or not. Why? Because I'd rather have Bungie delay the game and make a masterpiece, then release the game just so it gets out this holiday season, when the game is not as good as it could of been had they released it when it's finished.

That's all I have to say on this matter.

Why would Microsoft cry when they still would have 2 GOTY candidates to well none on the PS3.

This game has been in development forever though, so Bungie better be finished with it. I don't agree with you, I think it would just piss people off more because even if Bungie did make the game more polished and whatnot, fans would hate it. They would, that's just the way people are.

It takes Bungie however long it takes to make a game. There's no set date.

And even if there was, Bungie has grown in size by over a hundred. The games done.

No wait End of 2004+2005+2006+ 3/4 of 2007=3 years of development. Also, Bungie did state that they have been working the hardest on this game then anyother game they've made.

This game has been in development for 3 years, and Bungie wouldn't have planned a September release if they didn't think it'd be finished by then. Microsoft does not push them as much as you think; they give Bungie a lot of room to do what they do best.

Actually it's been three years since Halo 2, and I disagree entirely, Bungie knows what they're doing this time, they chose the date themselves, if you were keeping up to date on Bungie.net andthe interviews a couple weeks ago with Frankie, he seems failrly optomistic about their release schedule all they really need to do is smooth out the blips and beeps for the final retail release, but oh damn I guess this means I'm not a "true" Halo fan :(.

What are you talking about? Halo 3 was supposedly in production before Halo 2 shipped, add that to the month short of 3 years that we've already waited and what do you know? Halo 3 has been in production for 3 years.

You're wrong. You'd be right with Halo 2; bungie needed more time, but had to get the game finished. They took too long, screwed around too much, and ended up with a horrible crunch to get the game done.

This time, that's not the case. Heck, the game was largely finished a couple of months ago; right now they're on bug testing.

The started on Halo 3 IMMEDIATELY after Halo 2. Halo 2 hit store shelves in Nov 2004 (they finished it and it went gold before Nov, though.)

They have been working on Halo 3 for 3 years, so there you go. Math FTW.

Now , combine this fact with the fact that their development team is even larger than it was for Halo 2...

Also since the beta, look how much more they did in just three months. About four new vehicles, a new grenade, three extras, four new weapons, upgraded the graphics, about six new maps. Jeeze that's a lot of stuff in just three months!

I think the graphics are great after downloading the E3 trailer on my 360 and watching it in HD. I was quite impressed. I think people bash it cause they changed master chiefs armor from the E3 06 trailer. Only blind people would call it Halo 2.5 or something like that.

halo is the microsoft trumph card, they know that if the 360 is to succeed halo needs to sell and be good. But ms also knows that customers need a reason to by the 360 this christmas (halo 1 was the reason in 2001 and halo 2 was the reason in 2004). I really hope halo 3 turns out to be the best game in the series, halo 2 was rushed and although it's single player was way better than halo 1, it was short and rushed.

let halo 3 not meet that fait because i wantthis trilogy to end and be the kind of game people talk about 10 years from now.

Sir...you have a valid point...but why wouldn't Bungie want to make they're atleast better...if they could. I am quite impresses with the Halo 3 graphics with watching in HD. It very well isn't Halo 2.5.

SoFreeSoNew12

1. There is a press conference trans-script on microsoft.com that clearly states that Halo 3 was being developed along side Halo 2. This document was used to prove the existence of Halo 3 when Bungie was quiet about it pre-announce trailer, you might have seen a lot of links to it around that time.

2. Bungie is on track with Halo 3 and they are the ones who set the release date.

3. Halo 3 IS almost finished. All that they have left to do is to polish it.

3. Halo 2, unlike Halo 3, was rushed and you don't seem to mind.

4. If you think that Halo 2 was one of the best games that you have ever played, then you shouldn't have to worry much about the quality of Halo 3.

5. Read Bungie's weekly updates before you complain about a problem that doesn't exist.

Why would Microsoft cry when they still would have 2 GOTY candidates to well none on the PS3.

Because they don't care about GOTY candidates. Only fanboys do.

They want money. Halo 3 would bring in more money than Mass Effect and BioShock COMBINED.

You truly are a fanboy.

Fun fact. Though Bungie got to dictate when they wanted the game shipping, MS was pushing them to ship the game as early as last Christmas to coincide with the PS3 launch.

they started work on halo3 before even releasing halo2..they had enough time.lawlessx

The enormous amount of features and the extremely polished beta back up your statement. I don't really understand what the OP is going on about.

They've got 3 years, but with more devs. They're now only polishing and fixing bugs. Also, the game is not limited to what you know. They set the plan 3 years ago, and the plan is not going to change in these last months. In the end to finish the plan they needed time till 25 sept, and I think the game wouldn't improve much after it. I just think bungie knows best when to release it, not the fans. (still though, they're fans themselves :P)

Because I'd rather have Bungie delay the game and make a masterpiece, then release the game just so it gets out this holiday season, when the game is not as good as it could of been had they released it when it's finished.

That's all I have to say on this matter.

I think you need to play better FPS's if you think Halo 1 and 2 are the best...

As far as you thinking they should delay Halo 3. I think the game is as good as can ever be and I think it has been delayed alot already.

[QUOTE="DuDisNow"][QUOTE="sirk1264"]Halo 3 has been in development since Halo 2's release. Its been about 3 years now. Its done there is nothing more to do.DuDisNow

Except make the graphics better so Cows will atleast think about not bashing it.

Halo was never about the graphics. As long as the gameplay is good, i'm content.

That's what I've always said but Cows bash it because they say! "Oh the graphics aren't good! The game will suck!"

I'd rather have the graphics as they are with tons of enemies on screen then even better graphics, but fewer enemies. And that would ultimately be the tradeoff.

As a big Halo fan I must asume you got the collectors edition of 2. So you should have watched the making of doco' on it. If you did then you know they didn't realy get started on Halo 2 untill very late and that Halo CE was made in like 6 months when MS finaly bought them and said get cracking. Bungie love to procrastinate, if anything it looks like Halo 3 has had the most solid work for the longest time.

Oh look a hermit. I've played ALOT of FPS and while Halo's aren't my favourite there is plenty of reason for people to have them as their fav'. Stopp being so jelouse that the Xbox got Halo first.

Trust me I am not jealous. If Xbox had gotten the version of Halo that the PC was going to get originally I would be mad, but it didn't. It got a shell of a good game. Nothing more...

Hard to say really. Bungie made Halo:CE in a really small time period, yet totally dropped the ball on Halo2 with 3 years in developement. If they didn't scrap what they had repeatedly to ruin the story again 2 years could be plenty.

yeah and there's no way they would do something like that at this point. It has already been 1 year without the 360 having a Halo game and there's no way they would make us wait another year. This is the perfect time to release it.

Good post, although I would have to disagree with Halo 2 being a good game.
