I reckon it'll give new insight into what devs are capable of, and seeing as these two previously only developed for Microsoft and Sony, it makes it more interesting. Will Bungie be able figure out how to use the Ps3's cell? Will Insomniac's game turn out better on 360? I understand that Insomniac isn't as quite as prominent dev as Bungie but nonetheless there's a few different scenarios you can imagine happening.
1. Both dev's excel on their respective consoles. Bungie make an excellent game, poor on Ps3. Conversely Insomniac also make an excellent game but isnt up to par on 360
2. History repeats itself. Both games turn out better on the 360. It wouldnt be the first time a former Sony exclusive dev made a better game for their rival. Think of all the exlusives Sony lost early this gen that turned out better on the 360 i.e Assassins Creed, GTA, DMC. Note however, Insomniac has had experience with Ps3 (and still continues to develop exlusively for) so there is a flip side.
3. The Cell is still hard to develop for - Insomniac make a great game, where it is equal to or better than its 360 counterpart. Bungie make a great game, but only on the 360. This will get fanboys roaring. The same arguement, but used in their own way - The cell really is complex to use. Lems will say thats why it sucks. Cows will say thats why its superior.
4. Both Devs excel on both platforms. So what does that mean? Well, for one thing, Bungie lives up to their reputation. For another it raises the bar for other devs who cant seem to figure out the ps3 (ahem, rockstar)
5. Both games suck lulz
