Burnout Paradise to me looks like a step backwards compared to Takedown and Revenge. Free roaming in car games always sucks. I just want to race and crash not drive around to get to a race, wasting valuable crashing time.ILoveBeingDrunk

you can still do that stuff. i think you just have to drive to the races (unless there is a faster way). i thought it was a lot of fun driving around free-roam with other people and seeing who can have the best drift or the best airtime.

So remember in the demo how "This event is locked in demo" every 5 seconds? Well, once you get the game all of those are unlocked from the start.

liked the demo, but didnt love it, "LOCKED IN DEMO" GAWWWDD!!!!!!!!!! i just got bored driving around and wanted to do events (which were fun, thus the reason of me getting the game)

I loved it besides it having only 3 events.

But other racing games only have 1 event and 1 car without online so there really isn't anything to complain about.

I really tried to enjoy it but without any clear story or compelling reason to card battle it just didn't do it for me. I guess it's good that it is a solid game in the series.

I don't think I'll be getting Burnout. I may give it a rental though. I like 1-4 but this one seems too different to me. It's more like Need for Speed now which I do not like. Also I wish people wouldn't post this s--t. I get EGM in the mail and I would rather be suprised at the ratings. Posting one rating is ok but all of them? Come on now! People can get the damn magazine or go to 1up if they want. THIS... IS... GAMESPOT!!!

I think it's a mix between Dynasty Warriors and Diablo with some 99 Nights thrown in. But apparently it's not very good.

Saying that mouthful doesn't make you right either: of course it doesn't have Xbox live, and rumble is now being implemented in every game. Achievementes and "comfortable controller" are just preferences by you.

I felt the same way while playing the demo.

Burnout games are awesome, but i think that the one thing that really sold me onto this game, is the way you get online. No need to look up stupid servers and wait to join the "game world" its so fast and intuitive that it leaves me wondering "Why cant more ppl make playing online this painless?"II_Seraphim_II

Agreed. It's amazing how seamless it is to jump in and out of a game. I love open world racers and mixing Burnout with that is awesome. They just increased the player cap to 8 players today... It's a must buy for me.

I don't understand the hate for the demo. The race lobby (the entire freaking world) is better than most games alone. Driving around the map and doing crazy stuff is a hell of a lot of fun. In the full game, every intersection is some kind of race event. I can't wait.

One of the challenges in the demo was to get from point a to point b as fast as you could. That's why.
