I just wanted to point this out with Killzone 2: it's exactly like the first.

So you may ask: But what are you saying, it looks so good.

And I respond: Remember Killzone 1? Yea, same idea.

Killzone 1 got so much positive things going for pre-release. It looks great, its previews were awesome, and the graphics were superb. In case you forget, yes, its graphics were rather amazing for the time:

to be honest, what's so different? Both look(ed) solid, have great graphics (for the time), got great previews, and were suppose to be great games.

Am I saying Killzone 2 can only fail? No. I am however saying that, so far, with what we've seen of Killzone 2, it looks like it's happening all over again.

I think its do or die time for Guerrila because if this flops like KZ1 then Sony will stop funding/publishing their products. They've also made a lot of improvements with KZ:Liberation...though Handheld developing is different than Console developing.

Starting now, every time anyone makes a thread about Killzone 2, I am going to beat a kitten to death.

Guarrllia Games has only made 3 games. They're best one got a AA (on gamespot). If you use gamerankings then they don't have one. I'm not saying Killzone 2 is doomed to fail. I just don't see how a company with no experiance can make "the best game ever". Unless Sony knows what the hell they are doing.

Sure, if you forget the major thing known as GAMEPLAY this time around.

All of the previews so far about the GAMEPLAY of kz2 have been good if not amazing.

Of course, still doesnt mean it'll be good.

EGM just did a preview and they said it played awesome. I'm not ready to hype it AAA yet, but I'm definately going to be keeping an eye on it.

You wanna know a difference? Sony's pouring a crapload of money and devs into this game. Why? I have no idea but they obviously see something in Kz2.

The only reason Killzone got low scores is because of the glitches that flawed the game. Most of the reviews were actually pretty positive.

Here is what the tag for Killzone says at Gamespot: It's a functional shooter, but with a couple of extra coats of paint, Killzone could have been a whole lot better.

Off topic:

I think you've managed to post more topics in one day than I have in my 2 years at gamespot.

I mean seriously, you have 4 topics on the front page right now.

[Edited for my sake because I know someone was going to report me]

Yeah that is true, I think KZ could have been a lot better and Sony saw that...
There's no way in hell Sony would let them screw up again, especially with all the money.
Guerilla has got devs from Insomniac (Spyro[1st 3], Resistance, Ratchet), Incognito (Warhawk and Twisted Metal), Naughty Dog (Crash Bandicoot[1st 4], Jak, Uncharted), SCE Santa Monica (GOD OF WAR), and ICO (Ico, Shadow of the Collossus)

You could think of it more as a colaboration of all of Sony's best devs (Excluding Kojima) in one game...
Oh yeah and Polyphony Digital isnt there because... well they make car games...

same as gears 2 and judging by the screens of gears 2 today: kz2 wins the graphics competition.

although i'm sure epic will step up and make gears 2 fantastic looking, but some of the muddy soup (dirt) floating around the multiplayer maps is nothing but annoying.
