I thought they done alright this year. Nothing amazing (neither were the others) but it was good enough.

However it didnt matter even if they bombed this year because unlike last, theres games coming out in the second half.

I know your joking because you called Wii Motion Plus Waggle Motion Plus.

Also if you were serious you would've said Women's Murder Club as Casual and put Sin & Punishment 2 for Hardcore (Everything Treasure makes is Hardcore.)

I agree their's was the weakest out of the 3...But Sony and Microsfot had amazing pressers. Sony's would have been better if all of their stuff didn't leak, so IMO Microsoft won.

I disagree alot. I do think it wasn't as good, but it certainly didn't fail.

If it wasn't for E3, I probably wouldn't be even concider buying a Wii. See, look it there. They just convinced me

They were definitely the worst of the big three, but they did so much better than last year.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M definitely pleased me, I know a lot of people were excited for Golden Sun 3.

Later that night, Miyamoto talked about Zelda some and revealed a few details and a piece of concept art.

There is a lot of room for improvement, but Nintendo did so much better than last year.

It was terrible! We got a Metroid game that nobody expected, a sequel to one of the best games of this generation, a new version of Golden Sun, a multiplayer Mario 2-D game that is a lot of fun according to previews, we saw how great WiiMotion Plus works and how amazing Wii Sports Resort is going to be and people were able to play the new Zelda DS for the first time.

Anyone that thinks that was good is obviously kidding themselves. :P

I agree with this. They did a hell of a lot better than last year, but that's still not saying much.

I don't understand how people think they bombed, did horrible, or showed 'little to no games'.

Are people spoiled? Like honestly.

They did what they needed to do. You realize that there are not 50 million "core" Wii owners, right? They can't exactly make their conference 100% "core" focused. They have different demographics to appeal to, therefore, they appealed to all those demographics - Wii Fit Plus, Vitality Sensor, Womens Murder Club, etc - Casual focus.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M (Co-developed Metroid title with Team Ninja) - Remember, that announcement came out of no where... Golden Sun DS, Zelda Wii, etc. Like, I don't understand what more people want.

Along with that, the pre-E3 stuff that came out - like No More Heroes 2's new gameplay trailer, Red Steel 2 gameplay footage, Fragile coming to North America, Trauma Team, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories coverage, etc. I mean, what more do people want?

I totally disagree. Nintendo hit on every audience that have with sure-fire must have titles that will sell crazy amounts. There are two reasons to buy a Nintendo Wii: 1) You like the classic Nintendo franchises like Mario, Zelda and Metroid and 2) You are new to gaming and you like Wii Sports and Wii Fit. Well Nintendo announced two new Mario platformers, two new Zelda games and a new Metroid. If you're in category #1, this was like a dream come true. If you're in category #2, you have Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus. You're totally happy. The only people upset are the people that have hated Nintendo for a long time now. I don't know how a business guy can say they bombed when they announced titles that are going to be well reviewed, appeal to their target audiences and sell a crapton of copies.

Honestly I believe they tied for best.
They fired on levels, hitting casuals, hardcore and everyone inbetween within the same hour and a half.

I honestly gotta wonder what you were watching if you believed Nintendo "bombed" E3.

I disagree, Sony and Microsoft definitely had more flash than Nintendo, but I wouldn't call it a bomb. Besides, Reggie riding a unicycle while singing the itsy bitsy spider song for an hour straight would have been better than last years conference.

Nintendo makes new games all the time but when they make them people ignore them and keep talking about how they want a new Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros., and Metroid.

This is just Wii titles because on the DS they have 31 New IPs.

1. Wii Series (Includes Wii Sport, Wii Play, Wii Fit, Wii Chess, and Wii Music)
2. Endless Ocean
3. Disaster: Day of Crisis
4. Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
5. Captain Rainbow
6. Start w/ 100 Conversations! English Conversation
7. Kensax
8. Spawn Smasher
9. Cosmic Walker
10. Dynamic Slash
11. Everyone's the star on the NHK Red-and-White Quiz Battle
12. Line Attack Heroes
13. Excitebots
14. Manado: Beginning of the World

Number of New IPs for each system

  1. NES: 41 new IPs
  2. Famicom Disc system: 7 new IPs
  3. SNES: 18 new IPs
  4. N64: 13 new IPs
  5. GCN: 12 new IPs
  6. Wii: 14 new IPs (So far)
  7. Gameboy: 16 new IPs
  8. Virtual Boy: 3 new IPs
  9. GBA: 7 new IPs
  10. DS: 31 new IPs (So far)

Sorry, I meant not super casual games my baby cousin can play. The only 2 games on that list that are new and are like that are Disaster: Day of Crisis and Project H.A.M.M.E.R.. The latter is cancelled while the first one isn't ever coming to North america.

The ones in green are not Super Casual games. Cosmic Walker is Action/Adventure in Space, Dynamic Slash is an Action game created by Sandlot the guys that make the Earth Defense force series. Line Attack Heroes could technically be considered "Kiddy" but it is an Action RPG created by Koichi Ishii (Mana series). Manado: Beginning of the World is a new RPG by Nintendo and Monolith Soft.

Also Project H.A.M.M.E.R. isn't cancelled the team behind it said they are still working on it they just took a short brake to help with Disaster: Day of Crisis.

I hope you're right about H.A.M.M.E.R not being cancelled, but we have no release date. And disaster isn't coming to N.A. like I said. Out of the games highlighted, yes attack heroes is kiddy, I don't know anything about Manado so I won't comment on it, Dynamic Slash looks alright but I'll wait for it to get released first and Cosmic walker seems kinda like Endless ocean + dead space but in space but once again I need more info on it.

A Nintendo that doesn't make Mario, Zelda or Metroid games is a Nintendo that's totally turned its back to its core audience and abandoned everything that makes them good. It'd be like going back to 2001 and telling to Sony to get rid of Final Fantasy, Tekken, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, God of War, Devil May Cry, etc. Or right now telling MS to get rid of Halo, Fable, Forza, Mass Effect and Gears of War.

I must be insane, I liked Nintendo's the best. Wii Motion Plus looks amazing. Golden Sun looks fantastic. Wii Sports resort looks like it will keep me hooked for a long time. And that's not even mentioning SMG 2 and Metroid. The funny thing is that people seem to have forgotten Nintendo's E3 2008. Now THAT was terrible.

You know, you could easily say that 85-90% of the PS3/360's library is casual too.

Sorry, I meant not super casual games my baby cousin can play. The only 2 games on that list that are new and are like that are Disaster: Day of Crisis and Project H.A.M.M.E.R.. The latter is cancelled while the first one isn't ever coming to North america.

o0_L0st_B0y_0o

Captain rainbow isnt casual as far as ive seen

I don't think either but he also didn't want the look of a game that would appeal to his baby cousin which is Captain Rainbow's artstyle does look that way.

I thought Nintendo was the best this year they announced so many games that I'm interested in alot more then Sony and Microsoft (Not Combined) IMO.

Nintendo_Ownes7

Then again, your screenname is Nintendo Ownes, so that's not really a shocking opinion.

"The games are pretty boring, too. The "new" Mario game for this year is all but a port of the New Super Mario Bros. released for the Nintendo DS in 2006."

O RLY? lol. Shows how much he knows.

"Again, the choice of Team Ninja to develop it is nice, and should make for an excellent game, but it's no game-changer."

Game changer? What the hell does this even mean?

"I'm a Nintendo fanboy -- I've owned every Nintendo system other than the Virtual Boy and Game Boy Color (I've owned an Advance, Advance SP, and a Game Boy micro)."

Wait, this is vaguely familiar. Yup, its the good'ol "let me validate my upcoming hyperbole bashing by saying i love them and own all their systems"...

"Nintendo had an absolutely inspired run with the DS, the Wii, and the Wii Balance Board, but it looks like it's over for now. It's time to sit on the sidelines until they get their act back together again."

Aaaand...i was right.

"Sachin Agarwal is the President and CEO of Dawdle.com, an online marketplace for gamers to buy and sell new and used video games, systems, and accessories with other gamers online."

LOL, why should anyone give a hoot about this guy's opinion?

I'm not a fanboy I made this name in 2005 around 2006 I stopped being a fanboy and I'm stuck with this name. Their are games I want on the competition in fact my most anticipated game is Brutal Legend. I thought the conference was boring but I liked the games they (Nintendo) announced.

I know but some people just look at the name and the Artstyle and ignore it as I described.

Hm, no, that site fails. Nintendo did great this year, NSMBWii is NOT a port, its another 2-D Mario game in all its glory on a console, what players have ALWAYS been whining about, with the addition of a whopping 80 levels, 4 player co-op, and Siggy at the reins of the project. Instant win. As for the graphics, how much better can a 2-D Mario game look? Its crisper on the Wii, fully 3-D, framerate looks stable, whats the big deal? The argument against SMG2 made no sense at all, something about Bros. 3 being good and the rest were flops (?), and something about Metroid doing better in the Western market. Failure.

I agree. The Wii has so much potential to have really great games, but Nintendo is throwing it by making more casual BS.

I read the article and the guy basically had negative comments on every thing that Nintendo had. I think he had the negative attitude before E3 even started. He's a ceo of some website that I never heard that sells games just to let you guys know. I don't think his opinion should be held higher than any Joe Public.
