1600x1080 isn't 1600pWii1080p
Too hard to comprehend that PCs can do 2560x1600? The next step from widescreen 1920x1200 where I'm at.
Upscaling is improving and the wii output might be conjured up to a very high res on near future HDtv's. But it doesn't matter much.
The PC is going to walk away with best looks.
The Wii owners are ok with lesser resolution.
Higher resolution won't make the games as pretty as x360/ps3 games.
It's just good news for Wii owners who were planning on buying an expensive tv in the upcoming years. Which is 2 people.

TV scalers arent usually as good as external scalers.

Except there aren't any 1600p native panels in existance to display that resolution.
wrong:
these do:
ACD 30"
FP301W
3007WFP

LP3065

you really dont know anything about PC's

yeah, b ut that is PS1
I have played CoH on both 1440X900 and 1680X1050
a massive difference
Yeah, but the TC is talking about upscaling SD texture to HD. Wii textures are native in 480. You're not going to be seeing a huge if any difference in high def.[QUOTE="Wii1080p"][QUOTE="NobuoMusicMaker"][QUOTE="Wii1080p"]1600x1080 isn't 1600pwhoody12

Erm... I was thinking about TV panels... not 30 inch Computer LCD panels. At 30 inches, 1600p woudn't matter.
You would need a 70" panel to take advantage of 1600p...
Also, there aren't any 1600p sources available.

you should do somereseurch beforeyou come back

Actually, yes you do.
In order to take advantage of 1600p using a 30" display, your viewing distance would have to be something like....
5 inches from the screen.
If you have a 1080p display, using a 30 inch display, the ideal viewing distance is 3.9 feet.
http://www.myhometheater.homestead.com/viewingdistancecalculator.html#anchor_13194
Now factor in how much bigger 2560x1600 is over 1080p..., the viewing distance for 30 inch screen would be less than a foot... which would make it not practical...

Yeah, it does....
Pick up an XBR4/5 if you can... or XBR2/3s will be pretty cheap in a few months as they become discontinued.

1600P is that ultra high definition and when are they comming out with it...I don't even have a high def T.V yet.
[QUOTE="Wii1080p"][QUOTE="rexoverbey"]Upscaled DVDs are not true HD just as an upscaled wii game is not HD. For one you are upconverting low res textures on the Wii so it will never be true HD.Taz720
Yes, I know.
And Wii is a POS. graphics and gameplay...Nah,I love it.
Wii Sports is fun to play. I also use the News Channel and Weather channel at least once a week. Brain Academy and cooking mamaare good too.

It's already out, but it's not for home use.
They use 1600p in stadium HD panels.
What would be the point of having games on the wii that are on par with the PS1 as far as graphics go in 1080p? It just makes all the boxes and sharp jaggie edges easier to see on your tv. Its like taking a computer from the 1980s and hooking it up to a 20in hd moniter. It makes no sense. The wiiwii can't even play dvds for that matter so it has no use. I think its time for an upgrade where 1080p has some use, I'll give you a hint its made by sony and it ends with 3.XPrivateRyan22X
Check the screen again, this time, look at the bottom left hand corner of the screen
