[QUOTE="2Chalupas"][QUOTE="OreoMilkshake"]Or buy a PSP.Eponique
The screen is WAAAAAYYYYYY better on the Vita.
If I saw a PSP for like $50 or something I'd be all over it. But if i'm spending over $100 I might as well go all the way and get a Vita for $249. I would only be interested in the original PSP for games that are not available for download, games that I could get on UMD and have the actual physical copy. For games that were downloadable online, I'd be like "damn, I wish I was playing this on the Vita" just because of the screen.
The PSP does have some appeal though because it's cheap. I've kind of been considering getting a portable system for awhile, but if i had to choose just one right now absolutely no doubt I would go with the Vita even over a cheap PSP. The PSP would literally have to be at a clearance price for me to consider it.
Edit: plus the PSP is basically the same price as the 3DS (retail price, anyway). So even if the Vita was too expensive, the original PSP needs to be discounted more compared to the 3DS.
I can get the PSP for $60 used and it comes bundled with a game of choice at my local video game store. PSP retail software is also a lot cheaper than PSN prices. For the cost of a Vita you can get a PSP and more than 10 games easily. If you buy a Vita for BC you're doing it wrong.It would be stupid to buy any console JUST for backwards compatibility. I find it hard to believe people looking into a a portable system, would be satisfied with PSP and not look to the Vita.
$60 bucks is nice and all, but that's used anyway, I never go there for a console. Especially not a portable where people's grimy hands have been all over it (wouldn't want a used controller either for the same reason). I'm aware of them going for as low as $39 *BRAND NEW* in certain clearance circumstances. Obviously that would be a no brainer, and I'm pissed I missed out on those (unless another opportunity pops up). However for the retail price of $129 for PSP vs $249 for Vita, it would be stupid to get a PSP.. at that point just spend the extra $100 and get the far superior Vita.
