I have enough money for a ps3 now, but the games that i want to play the most are already on the pc such as Oblivion, Fallout New Vegas, and Batman: Arkham Asylum. With a gaming pc, i could have awesome graphics, cheap games, and i can use any controller i want. I have steam right now on my computer and it's amazing, but it's too bad my rig sucks and cant play any new games.

I'm estimating I'll have enough money for a gaming pc by late spring next year. What to you guys think?

You would be insane to choose a PS3 over a PC. :P

PC. A PS3 isnt a bad idea either, but it would be best to get a PC first imo.

Get a PS3 buddy. It seems to me that a gaming PC is out of your budget.

Judging by your sig, you're waiting on the 3DS. Do you think you can buy a gaming PC and a 3DS at roughly the same time? I'd go for PS3.

I'm saving up for a gaming pc - the fallout mod community is ridiculous - (it's like endless downloadable contentfor free! the guys there are geniuses)

I want to be able to create mods - test out ideas

I would go with the PC - check these

Look at the games of each platform on what interest you. That's the most important factor in purchasing a system. Late spring next year is a very long time; You might want to get a PS3 now :P

Depends on the type of games you enjoy. Research PC and PS3 games and then make your decision.

PS3 has some pretty good exclusives but, what are you going to do with it when you've finished playing those games?

You can do alot more with a decent gaming rig then you can dowith a PS3.

PS3. MGS4 is worth the price of the system and it has many good exclusive and games to. Graphics are great plus it has a bluray player built in to. PC obviously isn't a bad option either so it comes down to whether the PS3 exclusives mean a lot to you and if you want to continue saving money.

PC . Also what is your current rig? If you have a decent Cpu then all you need is $140-180 for either a 5770 or a gtx 460 768mb ( which both can max any game ouy now btw) So in the end not only you will get cheaper games but hardware as well will cost you less

:? How much do you think a gaming PC costs?! Its only $500-$600, sure it can go up to $1000+ but it doesn't need to, considering the games you want to play it you could get away with a $400 PC.

oh ok then , Still you can use your hard disk, dvd drive, Keyboard+mouse, screen and build a great pc for about $600. The amount of money you will save from games bought on Pc totally worth it ( batman AA is less than $15 on steam now )

Given the time frame and potential furture purchases like the 3DS, I'd get the PS3 now. I'm sure its graphics will good enough for you. And the games you mentioned are also cheap on the PS3 now anyway. And that'll give you more money around the time the 3DS comes out and you'll have a great handheld and a pretty good console to boot. Save the PC for later.

Getting a good PC helps for a lot of thing, not just gaming. Definitely take that into account. I prefer PC gaming above console gaming so my answer is obvious.

Aren't you the one who's dad wouldn't let you buy the PS3? Let me just say this make sure you know how much the PC rig your shooting for will cost (including upgrades) and make sure you know how to make everything work. If you dad isn't supportive of your PS3 idea I doubt he'd support a gaming PC so you want to make sure you know everything about such an adventure before you begin.

A new PC will probably seem more legitimate though.

I would just keep it simple for right now and go for the PS3, and get your self a couple of used games. Why wait when you can start enjoying your games right now. You can always get a pc later on with better tech and reasonable prices.

Going to have to figure it out for yourself. Or ask in your blog.
