"I’ve chatted with some third parties now who already have online components in their forthcoming Wii projects. It’s coming, guys - Pokemon Battle Revolution kicks it off in the near future, but in the next six months you’re going to start seeing a wave of third party games that take Wii online, too. Developers have had the online SDK for months now and the next wave of titles will incorporate it."

i just hate the whole friend codes thing, they really need to change that

EX. Xbox 360 Owners - "Hey you have a 360, whats your Gamertag?" "Oh, its _____"

EX. Wii Owners - "Hey, you have a Wii, whats your friend code?" "Ummm, I cant remember it"

In my opinion, a Friend List would be alot better. I'm still new to the Friend Code thing since I'm a new DS/Wii purchaser, and I still need to get the hang of it.

1.No one is going to use headsets(if it even supports it) 2.You're going to need a separate friend code for every game that comes out 3. It's not even going to match PSNs online setup..

If someone can remeber a credit card number, social security number, etc. then they can remeber a Wii FC #. Not that hard.

PSN has seperate friend lists too........... :? No one use headsets? You speak for everyone? :? PSN's online setup blows as of now.

I'm interested in seeing how well this works. A spasmo game like SSB with 4 players buzzing around the screen should be quite a test of its latency thingy. I'm pretty sure Pokemon is still turn based so it won't really give an idea.

Wii's online is hardly somthing to look forward too.....

Friends codes = LAME.

Nintendo could have been so much more this gen if they would have created a proper online network.

Nah I'm ok with it. :)

I understand :) The Wii is an awesome system so far, and I just think that it would be even better if it had an online feature that I would get acustomed to using. But so far, the Nintendo strategy is working so maybe I'm the minority here.

Yeah people make WAY to much over friend code. You find a friend, trade codes and wala, your friend forever. :) Really not that hard.

As much as it shouldn't, it does. I'm used to inconviniences on my handheld, at least that's portable so I can like chat to arrang things as I'm workin the menus, but to play pokemon online by running back and forth between my compy and my wii just is something that... I'm just not gonna deal with it.

I think it's pretty much confirmed that GameSpy will handle the matchmaking for the Wii. In my eyes GameSpy has always been somewhat mediocre, but in the end they usally get the job done.

I wouldn't hold back just because of online. Wii Sports alone has been a great experience for me... It's definetly a great system to play with your buddies or even with your girlfriend, family, etc.
