The game doesn't feel like an action film but like a war game.. i've been playing it recently because of lack of games to play and it is really intense and awesome. The cinematic moments are delivered much more naturally then in the other cods, you don't lose control of your character during them, so it feels more like your a part of it.

The game is pretty brutal on veteran, especially coming back from COD 4, which was a cakewalk IMO

COD 2 was alright I guess, but I never liked the CoD campaigns to begin with (Black Ops was decent though.)

Lol... I remember liking CoD2's campaign. But I can't remember waht it was about. It's been six years almost. I don't remember if it was my favorite though. Either that, the original, 4 or WaW.

I only played the COD 2 demo... but I think COD 4 had the best campaign IMO of all COD's.

Thats what is boggling my mind, CoD is like the best selling game in history of gaming yet the company still havent done dedicated servers for conosles or some kind of a platform cross play or something, wth are they doing with all that money? :P.. whats worse is that CoD is too fun so its hard not to buy each new release :P

COD 2 and 3 were the last "regular" COD's.... before Call of Duty was a household name. Kinda weird it was ever just another WW2 game.

Black ops was decent, but it had wayy too much set piece stuff. I guess black ops was more secret special ops stealth stuff and COD 2 was more about big scale battles (which I like better). Also (SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR) the twist at the end of blops reminded me of fight club ALOT.

CoD 2 was my least favorite in the series. It was really lacking the grand scale that was in the original game and United Offensive, which are the best campaigns in the series. Surprisingly, the one campaign that comes closest to those two is Black Ops.

I'm not saying your opinon is wrong, but I thought COD 2 had a pretty awesome scale. Charging Hill 400, Pointe Du Hoc, and a lot of the later missions are just chaos with bullets flying everywhere, and atleast 50 enemy soldiers.

Haha, nice to meet you too. I think I might change that sig because it seems a little pretentious but I'm too lazy.

I have friends who got really into the black ops storyline, and by looking at intel and stuff found out a bunch of little things in the plot like how woods is alive and in a gulag or something

It wasn't a console port so I'd say it was "one" of the best CoD's.

I have to disagree. Call of Duty 4 offered freedom in many of its missions (with surprisingly unlinear missions at times), as well as a mix of an authentic war feel in the middle east combined with a more Special Forces feel. 4 had the best campaign in my opinion.

4 was awesome no doubt, and i loved the sniping mission and others, but I thought COD 2 allowed you the most freedom. Theres really open battlefields and a lot of cool bunkers with some neat easter eggs and stuff. Cod 4 was awesome, but COD 2 takes the cake (it also has some pretty funny dialouge at some parts, especially between price and McGregor

I am a fan of their WW2 campaigns.

I thought the campaign of Modern Warfare was bad, so I didn't buy any of the other CoDs.

Call of Duty 2 did have a nice story campaign. It was much longer than the last 3 or 4 CODs. I lose count.

I started playing back at 1 and it was amazing. Back then the campaign was unlike any other. Good voice acting and action sequences. They've kept that formula, cause I've enjoyed all of them.

Seriously though... imo the original (including UO) and CoD2 were the best CoD's. PC versions that is....'cause I never really liked the console versions (on Ps2 and GC).

I don't understand the praise for CoD4's campaign, though. It was incredibly short and bleh.

I recently tried replaying CoD 4 campaign and was shocked by that fact that I didnt like it anymore. it aged horribly IMO and I just wanted to be done with it.

IMO as far as the WW2 COD games go World At War was my favorite, but COD2 would be next as COD3 wasn't that great and the first COD and expansion feel a bit dated.

Call of Duty and United Offensive are not only the best games, but also have the best campaigns, I think.
