Gameplay wise,not graphics wise.
After seeing the last CoD 4 trailer,it has GOTY potential, big time.

You're basing this off of what exactly? Almost all the Call of Duty games are very similar to each other gameplay wise. That trailer only shows a storyboard. 0_oVandalvideo
I like story.

The trailer shows absolutely nothing, afterall, it's JUST A TRAILER. The actual gameplay videos haven't impressed me very much, but we'll see. CoD went down hill after United Offensive. CoD2 wan't anything special compared to CoD1 and UO.
Looks like it plays the same as call of duty 2. No fully destructible environments, no new gameplay abilities that the nano suit gives you. Cod4 will probably be a fun linear fps like all the others with a few graphical bells and whistles.

Agreed. And the graphics aren't even significantly better.
The gameplay videos were dissapointing to me. It looked very much like a "spray and pray" game. This isnt even in the same league as Crysis. In fact, nothing is.TheCrazed420I trust Infinity Ward when it comes to multiplayer, unless they ****** it out to console players.

It's funny how you say that, as I enjoyed COD2 on the 360 way more than the PC version.

Call of Duty 2 was rather different from 1.

Yes it was. Horribly too. Almost the entire competitive community on the PC shunned it at first. The game is an abomination to vanilla. The regen health ruined the fluidity of competitive play. It was a console mess.[QUOTE="TheCrazed420"]The gameplay videos were dissapointing to me. It looked very much like a "spray and pray" game. This isnt even in the same league as Crysis. Which I fear is the case here. Have you seen the vid with the shooting thru walls footage? There was barely any use of the iron sights, everyone was basically just shooting erratically in the general direction and getting the kills. I'll give Infinity Ward the benefit of the doubt, because of their rep, but it doesn't look good so far.

Yes I did, and the reticle was as big as a fat kid at Haagen's Daas on a saturday.well either way, at least hermits will get to play call of duty 4 as well as crysis,
console owners will only get COD4 cause they cant handle crysis ;)

^^^ That's what I call crazy talk, Still, COD 2 wasn't nearly as impressive as COD 1 + UO, which were PC titles. M/K > Clumsy Thumbsticks

HAHA, so true. Pc gamers get cod4 with better graphics as well as crysis....so to be honest why would they care?
[QUOTE="Banhammer3000"]I doubt is going to be better than GRAW or Socom. But it definitively looks cool.trix5817
Since when has CoD been anything like GRAW......
The day devs decided to take COD franchise beyond.COD4 have this GRAW/Socomfeeling IMO.If you try to make an argument based in my opinion you just lose.
owned.
[QUOTE="Killfox"]This game to me is a dissapointing. There isnt really anything thing here that wows me or excites me.Meu2k7
Same, just another scripted (graphically) generic FPS.
Crysis has been impressing a lot more than it ever has the last couple of weeks. I think its safe to say the the gameplay will be awesome. There just so many possibilities. All the previews and articles that came out just prove thats its more than just graphics.

I thought Cod2 was the best Cod. Haven't played UO though.

Funny thing. I think the exact opposite. The 360 version was way to slow paced. The PC version looked way better to. PC version i had a better experience than i did with the 360 version. Oh and like cobrax said "64>8"

more people playing doesn't mean anything. the maps in COD2 were awesome because they were tailered for 8 people, I always had a lot more fun with it on the 360 than the PC version.

Well that's your opinion. Something which isn't shared by a lot of people though. COD2 shines on the pc.

Um simply, no. Not only does crysis actually look better but it also has huge expansive environments that you can actually traverse across, destructible trees, vegetation, buildings all with amazing physics.completely dynamic ambient light maps and shadows (i.e. when a tree falls in whatever direction you shoot at it the shadows will be perfectly where they should be after it falls).
so no i dont think call of duty 4 comes close to be honest, especially considering how linear and uninteractive it is.

whilw Crysis does have destructible enviornments..the graphics are close..go watch that vid in that other thread...I tell it like it is .....
its multiplayer will be better. for sure.lespaul1919That can be debated. The nano-suit really seems to stir things up online. So even deathmatch will be new and exciting.

Which you say was a very, jam-packed action sequence. The gameplay demonstration that was shown at the Microsoft press Conference was average at best when next to Crysis.Crysis, in all action glory (aircraft carriers, massive Hunter aliens, JUNGLES being torn apart from the North Korean army's gunfire, EARTHQUAKES, tanks, C4 explosives etc.) will completely annihilate CoD 4.
Gameplay wise,not graphics wise.

Well, they're both coming to the PC, so in that case I'll just say, whatever dude, I'll enjoy playing both of them.
