YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!, the classic cod was one of the best in the series, no bs perks and just pure goodness of gun play. I'm actually quite excited about this.

Um, is there a way to change the difficulty setting? Because the German Battleship mission on Hardened is making me want to hurl my controller at something...

Is this real?

Well, just so you know, they don't need to remaster it ...at least to GOW1&2 levels. It's an old PC game. That means it was already running at high resolutions and consoles have caught up to 2003, however, there have been tweaks, and balancing for our HDTV's and controls.

Although $15 is criminal for ACTIVISION to charge for such an old game, but console folks will pay I guess.

Yup, it is. It looks nice and plays nice although you can't run and it feels weird. I am glad i have the Hardened edition for MW2 so i got this for free :D. I say, its worth it for the nostalgic factor this game has and it probably has the hardest veteran out of all the other COD games.

1) It is not Modern Warfare 2
2) It is a lot more difficult than all the subsequent CoD games
3) It is really old

1. Duh.

2. I noticed that. Do you happen to know a way to change the difficulty setting?

3. The original B-K & Zelda games are old, but they still rock.

It actually kind of ruined any nostalgia factor the original CoD would hold for me. It's really not a game that stands the test of time.

COD 1 was the only game to ever make me want a high end PC. I would buy it, but $20 is too much for me, Ill wait for a price drop, or some kind of sale

1. Unfortunately, it's only CoD.

2. Don't play on Hardened or Veteran on your First Playthrough. It's REDICULOUSLY hard.

Heh... I would recommend the original CoD and United Offensive over any other CoD. There are in fact some old games that are actually better than newer ones. CoD since United Offensive has just been completely formulaic and downhill.

Still haven't got over Nuts & Bolts, have you?

i waited a long time for this only to be somewhat disappointed. almost no one plays online. probably cause the game is region locked i think, but i don't know too much about that. and the graphics... look like CoD on PS2 graphics. the original pc version looks much, much better.

Look, I don't care any more. As far as I'm concerned, Rare is DEAD to me until they sort up their problems.

I mean, that game is just...Look, it's not bad, but it felt like a punch to the face after waiting Eight Years. But I got over it a LONG time ago, so don't bring it up again.

But I'll ask again, is there a way to change the difficulty setting?

Well they could've updated it with CoD 2 Graphics, grenade indicator, telling where enemies are via radar, etc.

Maybe the regenitive health system to make things less cheap (British Bridge defense and Battleship Tibitz comes to mind).

Seriously, does anyone know how to change the difficulty setting? If Battleship Tibitz is any sign of difficulty, I might have a heart attack in the missions after wards.

i would have happy if they just implemented the aiming controls from cod 2, otherwise it feels a bit off trying to aim.

Defensive much? Are you seriously that worked up over a video game? Maybe a little counseling and Prozac should be in your future. Just a suggestion.

Ouch. Did I not PERFECTLY say that I got OVER IT?

I might need to call a MOD...

Now that i think about it, some of the aiming is pretty slow.

Something tells me that a few updates would've helped this game...

It's not the part about you being over it that I was caught up over; it was the kind of harsh, bitter nature with which you told the poor guy to not bring it up again. And then you call a game a punch in the face? Um...yeah. And then you threaten to call a mod? I'm sorry, but this is too humorous to be serious.

1. Last year, I was expressing my disapointment of this "Sequel" rather civil-like, then HE butted in and insulted me and those who were disapointed, then arguments ensured. So he's not the victam.

2. It's an expression of how disapointed I was.

3. Well, you were rather rude to me, and seeing as how that's not taken kindly 'round here...

I'm sorry, but no matter how you try to skew it, you still just basically barked at him very bitterly; I found your bitterness very rude. You didn't handle the situation with any sort of diplomacy, and that's not my fault or his...it's yours. You snapped at him, and I felt inclined to point out that it was unnecessary. Oh, and my comment about counseling and Prozac was just, as you put it yourself, "an expression".

Then let it die. He said something, and you could have ignored the whole thing and I'm betting most people would have read it over without even giving it a second thought. All you did was bring more attention back to the very debate that you wish would die.

The game is terrible avoid it like the plague. They didnt even bother attempting to fix it up for consoles. Controls are horrible, and well no they did not remaster it in the slightest sense. I feel robbed, and i got it with the Hardened edition of MW2.

I'm sorry but why would anyone buy this. You can probably find the game for like $1 or $2 on PC... you really don't need a good PC to run this game. Don't get me wrong it's a good game but why spend $15 when you can pick it up for $1.

I completely agree, when i saw that on XBL, i scoffed and closed the tab :P It should be 5-6 bucks MAX!

Sadly, Activision's probably going to make thousands on this release, maybe even a million.

Yep, certainly is the best Call of Duty. I hope console fans really enjoy it, even if its over 6 years old methinks. Great game.

The game is terrible avoid it like the plague. They didnt even bother attempting to fix it up for consoles. Controls are horrible, and well no they did not remaster it in the slightest sense. I feel robbed, and i got it with the Hardened edition of MW2.

What do you expect from Craptivision? they didn't upgrade cod4 version 2 much either... Bobby Koticks goes by cheapest possible way to milk guilable gamers the hardest while having to fork over very little to do it.

The battlechest with CoD and UO is still like 20-30 bucks, so its not that bad of a deal. Still, its such an old game, one might as well just get it on the PC. I'm pretty sure any newish computer can play it well enough.

I've got all kinds of new games still to play with more coming so I will pass on this overpriced antique of a game that I experienced a long time ago.

CoD 2 is my favorite by far. Classic is really fun, almost like playing a sequel to CoD 2 as I had never played it before.

[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]...what's your angle...?

foxhound_fox

1) It is not Modern Warfare 2
2) It is a lot more difficult than all the subsequent CoD games
3) It is really old

1. i played the demo...its in HD now and its better than MW2 IMO

2. the controls are great

3. its Very fun

4. i was impressed..suprisingly
