If you are looking for something realistic, true to the experience of war, and one that honors our armed forces...
JOIN THE ARMED FORCES!
I see your point, I think that in Call of Duty (and every game) you should have no crosshair and die in one shot.Tikicobra
no respawns either, then it will REALLY be worth your $65!
Its business baby. Make the graphics look as realistic as possible and have the gameplay fun and simplistic for the kids to get into. In mainstream public people just want to play a war game where it makes war fun, therefore calling that realistic, and never have to be told how horrifying a real war is because it'll be too depressing and they'll reject it being part of the definition of war.
Thats how ugly human nature is.
I don't think any sane adult on Earth denies that war isn't fun.Its business baby. Make the graphics look as realistic as possible and have the gameplay fun and simplistic for the kids to get into. War is a disgrace
EDIT: no offense to those who have served
None taken. Nailed it on the head though. Human's were not given the most advanced brain on the planet so we can ball up our fists when we disagree.[QUOTE="PSdual_wielder"]I don't think any sane adult on Earth denies that war isn't fun.Its business baby. I said kids, those who are too young to know any better. The way the 12 year olds are growing up these days are unbelievable I kid you not. When I left high school most of the younger grades at the time are so ignorant about the world its amazing.

You said "mainstream public", not kids. But yes, kids are stupid. I don't think most kids with a decent IQ would deny that war = bad, though.[QUOTE="PSdual_wielder"]I don't think any sane adult on Earth denies that war isn't fun. do you not read the topic before commenting? TC said "Call of Duty games are a disgrace to the memory of all service men who have died in combat." and then went on to explain his statement criticizing game play. I simply pointed out the more severe act of disgrace commited by these sort of games.. exploitation of soldiers. Its business baby. You said "mainstream public", not kids. But yes, kids are stupid. I don't think most kids with a decent IQ would deny that war = bad, though.Well that's where things get a little tough. Killing is considered bad. That is the main thing in combat that you are forced to do in order to survive. Now what your forced to fight for may not be bad. WW2 was unfortunately necessary to step into. Now if it had been a war of words? Like the cold war, slow drawn out but discussed until a peaceful resolution came to, that would have been ideal.I simply pointed out the more severe act of disgrace commited by these sort of games.. exploitation of soldiers.Great_RagnarokIs Empire: Total War also exploiting soldiers?

Yup and after that the disc blows up and you can't play it again. 1 life only baby.[QUOTE="Great_Ragnarok"]I simply pointed out the more severe act of disgrace commited by these sort of games.. exploitation of soldiers.Cherokee_JackIs Empire: Total War also exploiting soldiers? 18th century mounted dragoons are coming out of the woodwork to protest that one.

Yup and after that the disc blows up and you can't play it again. 1 life only baby. Hideo Kojima actually wanted to do that.WW2 was unfortunately necessary to step into. In some situations, but not in WW2. Europe could not have been left to the Nazis for 50 years while diplomats tried to arrange a peaceful resolution.
But this is getting really OT.

Good point. But as I said necessary to step into. Also we didn't step in until Japan attacked Pearl.[QUOTE=Yup and after that the disc blows up and you can't play it again. 1 life only baby.Candy-StarHideo Kojima actually wanted to do that. What exactly did he intend to do? *the quote really screwed up eh? *hope it works for me... He had the thought once to make a game in which you get one life. When you die, the game locks and can't be use again, hyper realism. Want another chance? Buy another copy. But, he couldn't do it, for obvious reasons.

Just to let you know there was violence during the cold war. Americans and Russians had fought in occasions, but just not so out of proportions enough to have been considered a real war.
But despite that cold war is nothing close to the 'ideal' way of resolve. It was more like an era of horror more than anything.
The ideal way to solve an argument is to sit at a table and talk over it, something neither side felt like doing back then.

I think they should at least use part of the profit for charity of some sort.
