I'm pretty sure there are both the MW2-esque missions and this "survival" mode (MW3's version of zombies).

But then people would stop buying Black Ops for it. I'm sure its not up to Trey, IW which version gets Zombies. I had read West and Zampella mention aliens and zombies for possibly directions the MW2 story could've gone in early early production, but it just didn't. Activision probably makes them keep them separate, so it keeps the one from the past year selling WITH the new one, and vice versa.

Treyarch needs to release a full fledged Zombies-only XBL/PSN arcade game for around $30 that has a decent amount of levels and new, creative weaponry. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and I know so many more people would too. A lot of hardcore Zombies fans buy Treyarch COD's JUST for the Zombies mode and it isn't even the main part of the game. You know what, despite people hating on COD all of the time, you guys really have to admit that COD games usually pack some of the most content out of any gaming franchise in history. They usually have a fairly good campaign, an extremely robust online with a fairly large amount of maps and game modes, and now they seem to always include a pretty deep extra mode that could probably sell on it's own(first with Zombies and now with Spec Ops). That's a good value by any standards. Most games have a campaign and typically a pretty shallow multiplayer mode(sometimes none at all with all of the singleplayer-only games out there). Whenever I buy a COD game I always feel like I'm getting a ton of content for my $60 compared to most other games I buy.

Honestly Spec-Ops missions were the most fun I had in MW2... I was hoping in MW3 they'd include this mode with 4x player co-op..
