Call of Duty 7 in Development

----------------------------------

Senior Animator at Treyarch reveals: "I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7."

----------------------------------

My Take:

- I know, I know... it was obvious and bound to happen.

- I love the Call of Duty franchise keep that in mind.

- They might as well start adding yearly titles - Call of Duty 2010

- Also, note this is from the senior animator's "Twitter" account. Still, the chances of this being true is highly likely knowing Activision .

- Are these COD upgrades worth $60 every year? I'd say no. I bought WAW at $40.

- Please don't be WWII ! Try Vietnam :D!

This is like what Insomniac did with the R&C series back on the PS2 and now on the PS3.

Really, I'd rather have it spaced out than an annual affair.

Yeah. A reason I didn't buy all R&C games on PS2 (not initially). I like Insomniac's release structure this gen. A sequel every 2 years is good IMO.

Pff, too many COD's imo. I think I'm done with it. Maybe I'll check out COD4take2, or maybe not.

I think every dev should have atleast 2 IPs they switch between. So this year they make IP-A, then next year they make IP-B. Sure Insomniac is pumping out the R&C games, but there are Resistance games in between. SO while they may be pumping out the R&C games, we can hardly call them lazy since they have another blockbuster IP still making games.

yup, totally, in fact this is exactly what Activiosn wants to do with their franchises --- they only want to make yearly games for franchise that sell a lot even when they are rehashed every year.

More games is never a bad thing. Even if the upgrades are minor. At least COD knows what they are doing. Just look at the epic fail that GeoW2 is.

Yeah. Its better - last gen I was getting tired of R&C by the end of it.

I hope activision just relaxes with the COD games. I mean they are all quality games, but its going to get stale fast.

I somewhat hate when this happens but , oh well. It would fit better if one came out every 2-3 years. I can live with COD4 forever.

This is what happens when gaming gets too mainstream and casual.

I'd rather be called a nerd and be a social outcast and enjoy AMAZING games. I miss those days when "For Gamers, By Gamers" was still true.

My love for Call of Duty died a long time ago and I don't see it ever coming back. So yeah, I don't care how much they milk it.

The single player campaigns died with the COD3. MP is still great IMO. Actually better.

I think I'm just gonna stick with the IW games, the Treyarch ones just seem to take whatever IW did and improve on them in a few ways.

If you don't wanna buy one every ear, just buy one every other year, it really doesn't matter, more is better than less when you have the choice on which to buy. I'm a huge Blizzard fan, and I have to wait almost a decade for new games in my favourite franchises... CoD fans should be happy that they're getting more IMO.

Don't like Call of Duty for this reason. I've only played 2 and 4.

The fourth one sold 13 million... and is still 2nd highest played game on xfire by a significant margin... maybe it died for you, but a TON of people are still loving 4 despite the hate.

I like looking forward to a new game every year. I like it when the second half of October arrives and all the massive games start rolling. It's like a two months long party, and ends up with the hilarious awards season.

I can't understand why people say the SP of COD died since COD3. Both Modern Warfare and WaW were great, I don't even play multiplayer...

As of now, they have kept the quality up, and haven't gone down. Sure, you can say it went down from Call of Duty 4 to Call of Duty 5, but it was a different developer, if you compare Call of Duty 3 to Call of Duty 5, quality went up, not down. So, I don't see how people can complain, other than the system wars taboo of "milking" which is just funny.

I'm done with WW2 games period. Like Treal said and I've been suggesting, try a Vietnam game.

I agree... But Activision will continue to pump out rehashes until it stops selling millions, or another FPS takes the crown. I eventually seeing COD pulling a Tony Hawk an becoming so stale that they have no other choice but to pull it back and actually redesign it.
