If it gets rid of the absurd, Michael Bay action movie feel MW2 brought in and takes this dark chapter in American history seriously, I might give it a shot. But, damn IW...you did some hardcore damage with your last title. Hardcore damage.
*EDIT* IF Treyach is making it, then there's hope. :D
I can honestly say im not the least bit excited for this crap. I wish COD would die or give it a rest for a few years.punkrocker163Yeh it's getting on my nerves :P
Verge 6 I'm seriously beginning to like you. This is going to be a Treyarch-developed title, more than likely, so historical authenticity is utterly out of the question. It may be interesting from the perspective of being an arcade shooter with somewhat modern assault rifles in an interesting setting. If it gets rid of the absurd, Michael Bay action movie feel MW2 brought in and takes this dark chapter in American history seriously, I might give it a shot. I'm with you guys I don't feel like buying another COD after MW2 because they are probably going to use the same formula of the last three CODs' and that is just dull. Feels like a MOD really...

I think World at War had more historically accurate factors going for it than MW2 (Russian paratroopers using French weapons and RPDs= WTF?). And on top of feeling more like an actual CoD game than MW2, the dark tone Treyarch managed to convey would be perfect for Vietnam. If it gets rid of the absurd, Michael Bay action movie feel MW2 brought in and takes this dark chapter in American history seriously, I might give it a shot. Yeh, i'm curious, but i doubt i'm buying day one.im a little interested because of the settings.

I have a feeling that a lot of people will still buy this game and it will sell at least over a Million copies. I mean look at World At War, remember when so many people said that it will suck and won't buy it but yet it sold about 11 Million copies still. I'm sure a lot of suckers will still buy it. Me I don't care for it, in fact the only COD games that I own is COD4 and MW2 and thats it. Buy yeah I still thinks that Activision needs to stop milking this franchise.

Guitar Hero should die now, with Rock Band to follow.
The milking will continue.. COD-vietnam 2010, COD MW3 2011, COD vietnam 2 2012......you get the idea :PI have a feeling that a lot of people will still buy this game and it will sell at least over a Million copies. No thanks. I've had my share of the Vietnam era from Hollywood movies.
I'll be looking forward to the new Medal of Honor.

Haha! same stuff happened to me. no more cod for me.MW2 was terrible, and i got suckered into buying it. Not gonna happen again.

How the.. There were no major battles in the Vietnam conflict in order for it to warrant a game. Their gonna have us run around a forest killing VC's?wdave92
Ia Drang,Khe Sanh, Hue, Lam Son 719, the '72 Easter Offensive, and the final North Vietnamese campaign in '75 had plenty of heavy fighting and brutal moments. Though they didn't all involve Americans.
[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Didn't you people learn ANYTHING from Battlefield? Don't do a freaking Vietnam game!jetpower3
I thought Battlefield: Vietnam was received well enough.
But it was a noticeable drop in quality from the prior games. It seems like the vast majority of Vietnam games are meh. Maybe not terrible, but defnitely not great. Is there? Their job description so far has basically been to copy what made the IW games so popular. For World at War they invented nazi zombies. I'd hardly expect them to give it a serious treatment. If it gets rid of the absurd, Michael Bay action movie feel MW2 brought in and takes this dark chapter in American history seriously, I might give it a shot. I'll definitely get this. There's not enough vietnam based shooters out there. And the ones that are out aren't very good. The original shellshock was about the only good vietnam shooter i can remember. Maybe this will be good. I won't buy another MW or WW2 CoD game though. Cash crops -.-
The only game this gen that was based around vietnam and even remotely good was Haze.... I can't see how anyone couldn't see how that was a satire.
At this point the only CoD I would be interested in would be an Infinity Ward developed game thatis NOTModern Warfare. Considering the ending to MW2 and that IW can only put out a game every few years, it looks like I'm done for a while.

Could also have something based around the Tet Offensive as well.

True. Tet Offensive lasted most of '68, and that year alone took more than 250,000 combatant lives across both sides. Very brutal, and more then enough to make a game out of. Even if it is a bit unconventional.
im not interested. I love the COD series but the gameplay is startng to get old. im glad IW is moving on 2 something new

Yeh, i bought MW2 beat the SP, and played the MP till level 40, and stopped. PS MAG is much more fun online ;)Another crappy rehash by Treyarch? No thanks. Besides, I've been playing the Call of Duty series since the first one, and since 4, they are starting to get duller and duller. I dont plan on buying a COD again to be honest..

When I first played MAG, I hated it. But then after playing a few more games and getting used to the controls, I realize that it's actually pretty fun and the teamwork is great.
Dont forget about BF:BC2 either. The beta of BC2 itself was better than MW2.
