Calling all MS and Sony fanboys and girls

So I hear a lot of people saying this year goes to PS3 or just wait for this fall for 360.

Personally I think sony has already shot it's load, and with a price drop and Gears2, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, etc MS will outsell quite a bit this year.

But on the other hand if Sony would drop price instead of these stupid bundles that are an excuse not to drop the price, they could gain more ground with blu ray starting to take hold.

Who will win this year?

I myself am waiting for God of War 3. but the question is what do you think will actually win. You have to remove yourself from personal bias. LBP is cool, but Gears will easily move millions. IMO

I didn't know the year ended in August...

But so far, MS. It's not even close to the year that i think cows were predicting.

Call me silly but it isn't obvious to me because the biggest Sony game MGS4 already shipped. 2 Proven hits are yet to come for 360.

M$ - Fable 2 and Gears 2 just to name two titles that I cannot wait for. Despite the fact that I have owned both a PS1 and PS2 I will never purchase a PS3 until they lower the price down. You're in effect paying for a blu-ray drive which is fine, if you want one - I don't so it's a huge waste of money for me.Rikuide_Furame

PS3 has more exclusives that intrest me than the 360 does, so my vote goes to PS3. I was considering getting a 360 Arcade, but im leaning more towards a PSP at the moment, knowing me though that is likely to change atleast 4 more times before I can afford either.

Wtf do you mean by Etc. for M$ cause thats basicly it, in terms of quality ill go for sony, but MS will probably sell more.

Some of the best games for Sony are about to come out this year and next year :D, only Fable 2 interests me

I think they are good but I don't know if any other than Socom can move systems. And my point is price will factor in. And Gears 2 just might make those other games seem like poop.

If you're talking about sales idk we'll see, but yea what I said was just off of my opinion. I don't think Gears 2 will sell consoles because I feel like whoever wanted Gears already bought a 360 for part 1, but Gears 2 will sell a lot of it's own units definately. I think Fable 2 looks great visually, but i'm not interested in Gears 2 or any of the RPG's coming out for 360.

I'm not a RPG kinda guy either, I'll be getting FF13 and FF Versus 13 because of the insane production values but I don't really try any RPG's other then Final Fantasies.

I'm a huge Socom fanboy though since Socom 2 and that'll be my multiplayer game for a long time, and LBP is pure amazing to me.

Why would Gears move millions? What huge GEOW fan is sitting at home waiting till this holiday season to pick up a 360 for GEOW 2? Most GEOW fans picked up the 360 for the 1st one, I dont see many 360s being sold for GEOW this holiday season, it will have a spike in sales because its the holiday season not because it has GEOW.

You forget many new people will finally come into this generation who aren't fanboys who will just go by what looks fun or hype. Gears hype is way higher than a cool 2d platformer. Also you forget there is a price drop and many moms whill get thier little brats a new system and since 360 will be in the spotlight with gears it will move systems. If you don't think so you need to take off your fanboy goggles. If sony really wanted to make it interesting they would drop price. That simple

i would need like a 200 foot cable and run it through the ceiling and up through the floor, it would have been an insane amount of work to get the cable to where i needed it so i have to use wifi

with the price drop and $40 banjo and Vivia pinata the 360 is bound to win,

sadly I don't think LBP will sell consoles, mainly because people don't know what it is, compared to a game like Mario who is a houshold name

gears 2 and resistance 2 wont sell many consoles because the people who want them already own a 360 or PS3

I wanted to be nice because his parents said they had already spent to much money on the console its self, and he wanted to play onlinein halo 3 more than anything else, so i felt bad..

I voted MS for a few reasons.

1. The chances of getting a RROD have significantly reduced.

2. Rock Band 2 comes out earlier on the 360, meaning people will buy RB2 for the 360 and their friends will follow suit for online play.

3. Tales of Vesperia is a huge RPG title, which has many people that would buy a 360 just to play it, especially in Japan.

4. A rumored price drop to 200$. Sony will be unable to price drop. (If people can vote because of LBP, it is fair for me to vote for this reason)

5. Microsoft has done a great job getting Sony exclusives, earlier release dates, and extra content.

I think MS has too many big guns for Sony this year. Sure LBP is nice, but it's not going to push as many systems as people think. A lot of people are forgetting about how popular GEARS has become. Expect Halo-esque madness at the GEARS 2 launch. Enough to push systems? maybe, we'll see.-Wheels-

I would guess a lot of people probably arent waiting til gears 2 to buy a 360, if anything i think the only real system seller left in the M$ tank in the RPG wave(which is nothing to scoff at). Basically if your gonna be into gears 2 u already own a 360 cuz u played gears 1 and loved it or if you havent played gears but are still inclined to believe youd like it, you will pick up a 360 for gears 1 to get your feet wet.
IMO Sony will have the better year becuz just like fans of sony games picked up ps3s long b4 games like mgs came out, M$ doesnt really have any games coming out that will attract new people who dont yet own the system (except in Japan maybe). I dont think Sony isn't much better in this department, but just has more people who have held off buying until they feel there are enough good games, hence the rest of this year.

Sony will win.

yes they are compared to crysis warhead, project origin, spore, wotlk, WAR, crysis warhead, stalker:clearsky and also countless other pc exclusives not to mention how fallout3 will be more kick *** on the pc.
