I don't expect a single one of you that come into this thread to care.
But I thought this was interesting. I looked at the back of the box on the Xbox Live Vision Camera:
It runs at 30 FPS at 640x480 resolution.
That reminded me of an article in Game Informer where they interviewed the creator of the Eyetoy. He said:
The Playstation Eye runs at twice the framerate of the Eyetoy, which ran at the same framerate as the XBL Camera. It runs at 120 FPS at 320x240 and 60 FPS at 640x480.
Both cost $40. Playstation Eye comes as a bundle in the $70 Eye of Judgment.
Anyway, the reason I was interested in this is because the technology was very intriguing to me from what I read in the article. It's good to know that Sony has a very tech-minded and progressive-thinking guy working on one of their peripherals, which is actually becoming more and more integrated into the Playstation franchise (see Eye of Judgment). And, of course, the Sony Camera runs at twice the framerate of the Xbox Camera. Both support AV chat, and the guy who invented the Eyetoy actually said that they use PSEye equipped PS3's to communicate during long-distance board meetings.
Anyway, happy Christmas Eve.
