I have not played UC3 or KZ3 so I wont talk about those.

but both KZ2 and UC2 got awesome multiplayer reviews...but I just dont get it, why? they are average at best, KZ2 was a complete borefest and also a lag fest, it was filled with "double kills" (when you get killed by the guy who you JUST killed) there were no rewards at all for your skill during a match, no vehicles, no "killstreaks" no special weapons, no nothing, the matchs were just "start, pew pew! bang bang you are dead! WE WON".

Same for UC2, there was no reward for your skill in game at all, and the perks were extremely basic, most of them were pretty much useless, and the game had terrible hit spotting seriously I remember I shot like 10 people in the head in a match and they didnt died and then I shot one in the torso and he died instantly and it said "headshot!". there is nothing special to do here either, its just run and gun until the team wins, at least for the TDM mode.

The coop mode was very entertaining but it also lacked a bunch of things.

Anyway yeah I think the MP for both games was subpar at best...it totally didnt deserved all the praise it got.

IF you were looking for Flash and Style in an MP then you might be looking in the wrong games. Sounds a little more like your looking for cod

There is nothing good about Uncharted's multiplayer. Killzone 2 was great though. It is the only FPS where spawn camping is not an issue, the sniper is not over-powered, and the variation of the multiplayer was great. Plus it had it's own feel.....which they totally screwed up in the dissapointing sequal.

I played a lot of Killzone 2 online when I first got it. It was good but there were way better online games out. I never really got into Uncharted online. I only play the campaign.

Because they are exclusive games.

Sadly that didn't keep the multiplayer from dying quickly anyways, but the point stands. People tried to trick themselves into thinking those games had great multiplayer because they were tired of the fact that games on other systems far outclassed them.

Well, both were fairly mediocre. Coop on Uncharted 2 however was loads of fun.

and I remember UC2 had TERRIBLE matchmaking it would literally take around 2 minutes to get placed into a lobby, and when the match was over they would actually close the lobby instead of keeping up with the same people...I know they fixed that with patches but still it should have been there since launch.

When was it that winning was considered the reward for being a good player again?

BTW, I greatly enjoy both MP experiences, KZ2>KZ3 and save for some of the maps, UC3>UC2

Its not download speed that matters, but ping. I have a crap download speed, but my ping is amazing and I do pretty well online, and if you don't know that then chances are you probably did have a crappy connection, or had someone else using the internet while you were busy losing in KZ2 and U2.

I didn't think much of the UC2 MP but the KZ2 ranking system was addictive and it's 32 player MP was a blast!

COD sounds perfect for you. Anyways, KZ2 is nothing like COD or Battlefail. one entire match is a mix of many objectives, capture the flag, capture the area, attack enemy area, defend your area, kill single marked enemy on the map, enemy comes kill your marked man on the map, deathmatch. All objectives in random order one after another so no match starts off with the same objective. the class each have their special ability, invisible snipers, deployable spawn group, engineer, medic and Infiltrators who can look like the enemy. 32 max players for KZ2, 24 max for KZ3. weapons have heavy recoil and weight, infinite Ammo box. Yup the perfect Multiplayer

UC2 was crap COD 1-2 bullet kill health system, horrible match making and horrible Graphics

Uncharted MP is meh at best. Killzone 2 is one of the best MP's this gen though. 1. Rotating gameplay types. 3-3 tiebreakers can get intense. 2. Best maps of any game this gen. 3. Best pistol of any game this gen. 4. Custom soundtracks 5. 32 players FELT like 32 players. Never played matches so intense 6. Spawn grenades made spawning a strategy instead of CoD randomness. 7. Sniper actually had bullet drop and you had to lead your shots 8. Ranked custom games. Hate the oh-so-broken Assault class? Just remove them. 9. The little things like snipers can go invisible but Air bots will go after them first and the shotgun's flashlight can expose them. 10. Online bots that you and an online buddy can play against.

People hate on Uncharted 2's MP a lot but I loved it. There aren't many other good TPS on the market (Especially on PS3). 360 has Gears of War for TPS and PS3 has Uncharted. There aren't really any good multiplat TPS and I actually prefer 3rd person to first

I never really got into either, but I've been told that they are liked because they are different. Meaning, one could enjoy COD or Halo, AND also enjoy KZ2 and Uncharted. Because they are different there isn't that, "well, this game is better so why play it" feeling.

OK look dont bring up the internet thing, please shut up about it because no matter how many times I see it people wont believe it, but believe it people I had 4mb download speed and was placed on servers with green ping, usually 3-4 bars (which is around 50-100 ms) and no lag at all, and no nobody was lagging my connection either. and you'd be a fool to believe that low ping/slow speed actually causes "double kills"...you will NEVER see it happening in counter strike or even halo, no matter if you have 999 ping you will NEVER get killed by a zombie.

A lot of those problems were fixed by ND later after release. It used to take me awhile to get into games (and I have download speeds of 25 mb and a ping of 12). After a few patches I would get into games pretty quickly and not notice much lag at all

I doubt you playd either of these games online, because Killzone is NOT a "lag fest" hell it runs on dedicated servers. So if you got lag than your internet just sucks, mabey you just don't like the style of these games but IMO KZ and UC have amazing MP modes. KZ has great gameplay and it's well balanced with all the unique classes and it's great team work, also the objectives are always changing every few minutes so it keeps variety. UC has alot of different modes to choose and the gameplay is unique with the climbing and jumping ect....plus the shooting is handled well and the maps are awesome!

But wether or not you like it is up to you, alot of people do enjoy them.

If you are referring to when you kill a guy and he kills you, its not a connection thing.

Unlike CoD and Halo, KZ and Uncharted don't have the bullets magically disappear when the person firing dies. Annoying? Yes, but try shooting someone who is also shooting you, you might notice that it doesn't matter who died first since you both got shot.

It also just sounds like you might be terrible, but idk. Both games had fantastic online and you can act like your word matters over that of everyone else, but its not my problem.

no, im not talking about that. oh and btw that doesnt happen in COD, in cod you can be killed by the bullets of someone who is already dead, hell theres even an accollade awarded specifically for when this happens. what im saying is that in UC2, you kill someone with a headshot, it says "BOOM HEADSHOT YOU JUST KILLED THE GUY" but the guy you just headshotted keeps running and kills you even though the game had already said that he was dead. thing is most MP games "confirm" kills with all the clients, so when you kill someone the server will say "ok this guy is dead" and pass that info to every person in the game so that no matter how much lag the other person has, he can no longer kill anyone else. in UC2 and KZ2 this isnt like that, the server doesnt confirm anything, it just says "ok you killed him!" but it doesnt tell the other one "ok you are dead!" it lets him keep playing until he catches up with the info that he is dead.

Yes that is True. especially with the Melee like you can shot someone and kill them but their last second melee will still kill you. Or like you shoot someone and they run around the corner before they Die, which is the infamous Bullet curving corner Lag-fest. UC2 was very bad but it Was ND's first ever Online Multiplayer shooter so give them a break. UC3 have improved upon those lag issues

KZ2 felt like a blast playing. You feel like you're actually fighting a war with the weight of the gun and your equipment hindering your movement somewhat. The main way to play this game is through playing a series of objective modes in one game in Warzone mode. Aside from a couple objective modes, the multiplayer alot of fun. Uncharted 2 uses a simple formula, but it works. It can also be a ton of fun to play. I actually had nothing wrong with the multiplayer, but the matchmaking after months became a HUGE pain. I gave up playing multiplayer on that game because of the terrible matchmaking which sometimes wouldn't even get me into a match. I'm hoping Uncharted 3's matchmaking works better. From what I've played in the beta, Uncharted 3 seems to expand upon Uncharted 2's multiplayer, so it seems like it could be pretty good. My issue with the beta, however, is that the shooting and movement aren't smooth.

KZ2 multiplayer was pretty awesome something different from COD i see not having killstreaks as a bonus. The weighty feeling and the sounds design made you feel like you were in a real war.

UC2 multiplayer well there aren't many good tps mp out there for PS3 and the traversal gameplay made it kinda interesting

I haven't played either, but you act like perks are something that makes a game much better. Well guess what, Quake live doesn't have perks, and it's the best multiplayer game of all time.

In my opinion:

Killzone 2 mp = awesome

Uncharted 2 mp = average
