Can anyone honestly say PlayStation is not trying any more?

I hate to engage in list wars, but this entire bullshit about how Sony is not investing in first party titles for the PS4... can we stop with it, now? If it was not clear already, the plethora of recent first party exclusive game announcements should drum the point home.

Seriously, here is a list of first party games announced for the PS4- just the notable ones, I'm not listing stuff like Rigs here.

That's twelve excellent first party games coming to the PS4, all of them in 2016, by the way- games from older, established franchises, new IPs, Japanese games, western games, horror games, adventure games, shooters, platformers, action adventure games, racing games, RPGs, you name it, Sony has you covered. This is their first party lineup- just for 2016.

So the bullshit narrative that Sony isn't trying with their first party- can it end now?

Honestly? Nothing looks likely. Most of these are games that have already suffered major delays and/or been in development for an inordinately long period of time, so there shouldn't be any nasty surprises coming our way any more.

Is that Crytek game PS4 exclusive (Robinson)? Must have missed that part.

No Vita games, sad. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood made me laugh, it looked like a roller coaster game, i was like wtf?

Nah everyone is trying right now. Even Nintendo with a new console release. That conference started off like dog shit then picked up a lot when I saw Horizon. If you list the exclusive stuff we saw there it's pretty good.

Most people are just complaining about the lack of a Big exclusive this Holiday season, but from a business standpoint you don't want to release one now. There's a TON of games coming out this fall and think about the games this year that have already been released.

Fallout 4,Battlefront, Bloodborne, Uncharted Collection, Until Dawn, and Witcher 3 and there's way more.

Sony doesn't need to try and still sell like 50c buffalo wings, but it doesn't mean they'll get a pass for slacking off. Theyll get there eventually though just like the PS3. To me Horizon is the most interesting looking exclusive on the market for now my PS4 is waiting

Preaching to the lem choir char, why bother?. They only care about having that bullet point circa-esc 2006 of PS4 having no big time holiday exclusive this holiday. When it comes to 2016 they're going to be quite lost for words I feel. Actually rather worried for them, I hope they find a new banner statement to gang behind because without them this board will become boring.

Q1 of 2016 is already packed with big guns and since PSX is on the horizon there is still more to announce.

Like I said in the conference thread, having software support from JPN, NA and EU is paying back in spades. PSVR already has a horror game too so I'm already sold.

@misterpmedia: I dont think they will be two scared of that lineup, they do have some big games coming. ReCore, Gears of War 4 and Quantum Break game, them are some heavy hitters.

Well everyone knows SONY is synonymous with world class gaming.

I don't think criticism is that they're not trying, just that they've been successful a great deal without having delivered on any real exclusive killer apps (aside from maybe Bloodborne); I think a lot of people could agree though that it goes along way not to shoot yourself in the foot like MS did with the Xbox One.

PS4 has plenty to offer though, no doubt about it, even though I'll likely be doing all my multiplatform gaming on the Xbox One, even if I were to just get console exclusives on the PS4 there's more than enough to justify it, way more worthwhile games than Wii U is offering anyways.

This. And could anyone put a score next to them. We've witness this so many times, how Sony announces all these games and someone makes a huge list. But one by one, they get delayed, they flop, they get downgraded. But by the time more people notice, Sony announces more future games and their fans move on to get hype again on those announcements. It's a vicious cycle.

We know what recore is? News to me. Quantum Break I'd class as the only heavy hitter out of those three.

Yeah it's great to be excited, but keep your realities in check, this goes for any fan, that way you wont be disappointed with the inevitable downgrade/delay/flop. To flat out say "That's twelve excellent first party games coming to the PS4, all of them in 2016" is a little crazy, especially considering Sony's track record.

Not sure how Gears isn't a heavy hitter considering the last mainline Gears sold 8 million copies.

Just watched the gravity rush 2 trailer. This game was always meant to be on more powerful hardware. It looks crazy.

@Gue1: I was feeling weird about that game after watching more, is that whole game based on one area? They kept showing off stuff, but was all in same scenery, which was very devoid of life and substance. Im hoping its not a game that was coming out on Vita but then got quickly ported to PS4. Im sure it wont matter though as long as the game is fun.

Even if he was right ......MS loses in terms of upcoming exclusives at the moment unless they'll also announce a few at some event in the future.
