Xbox One Leads Sales In Australia After Release of Slimmer System

Third-party sales data confirms Xbox One pulls ahead since August 2016, Xbox nods enthusiastically.

According to NPD Group sales data, Xbox One has been the best-selling console in Australia since the launch of the slimmer Xbox One S in August, a period that spans from August 1 to October 30. The data also confirms that the Xbox One S is also Australia’s highest-selling 4K Blu-Ray player.

Forza Horizon 3 is reportedly the best-selling Xbox One game of 2016, and global engagement on Xbox Live has increased 57 percent year-on-year.

“We’d like to thank our fans for their continued support and passion for Xbox in Australia,” said Jeremy Hinton, Xbox Business Lead at Microsoft Australia in a press release, “It’s great to see such enthusiasm for the new Xbox One S & Forza Horizon 3, as well as the range of exclusive bundles including Gears of War 4, Battlefield 1, FIFA 17, and Minecraft – all of which are available now.”

“With the upcoming launches of Dead Rising 4 this December, and Halo Wars 2 in February 2017, there has never been a better time to be an Xbox gamer,” Hinton enthused.

Wanna make some extra money on your catalog and really piss off Microsoft? Then port your games to PCwith Steam/GoG releases, no extra DRM beyond what they require, and solid port jobs. It'll be everything Microsoft's initiative is supposed to be but isn't.

This will really give MS a huge wake up call and put some real efforts into PC.

Why would it hurt me? As a previous PS1, PS2, PS3...and about to be previous PS4 owner until I get my PS Pro tomorrow after work at Gamestop at East Towne Mall, in Madison Wisconsin at 330pm, I hope they are ALWAYS doing awesome worldwide. It's a win win for gamers.
