The PS2 was pure crap. The PS2 was nothing but a hindrance to the Xbox. The Xbox was far superior in every regard but because the PS2 already had a large installed base, all of the developers were focused on it. Despite this, all the multiplats were still better on the Xbox.. Which is funny because for all the crying the cows do about getting 360 multiplats, they generally are substandard in comparison.

Yeah. I'm totally lemming. And the PS2 was an amazing system. It sold increadably well and is still selling at $130. It really is amazing that they haven't had to hit 99$ after all this time.

The PS2 also has several killer exclusive games. The Final Fantasys, the God of Wars... The PS2 dominated last gen.

Now can the cows admit that the 360 is an amazing system?

Some of that was true, others were not.

PS2 being pure crap is the latter. It was decent at worst.

SONY thrived on third party support. The PS2 was great because it had the most games. It had tons of stuff to play.

The 360 is the new PS2.

I had a PS1 and PS2 last gen and never considered buying an Xbox or a Gamecube. To be honest though in comparison to last gen with the PS2 i am enjoying gaming a lot more now than i did with the PS2 because of the amazing level of quality of games on the 360. The 360 is probably the best system i have ever owned (going right back to the commodore 64), warts and all. Now i am not considering buying a PS3 or a Wii in the near future since the games on there are what i consider to be lacklustre or just rehashes of past series - see Racthet and Clank and Zelda.

No doubt the PS2 was a great console because it had all the great games and was, for me as solid as a rock. But it was not as good then as the 360 is now IMO.

I suggest you go look at PS2's first year on GS..I don't see where people get this "ps2 did worse in its first year"..it had mgs2 and final fantasy x if im not wrong, not to mention other big name titles.

um wow, okay....but the ps2 stillwas fun and had lots of games. its likes 360 is the ps2 of the last generation in terms of user base and games.....its doing as the ps2 did at its launch and so on :D

I don't think any MS fanboys were denying the PS2 was great. I think Sony fanboys won't admit Microsoft is the new king of the gaming jungle now.

Im going to wait until this time next year before I start saying PS3 is a disgrace. Funny how people dont remember the ragging 360 took in its first year. It was dubbed a glorified orgininal Xbox with only slightly better graphics. 360 didnt score any real hits until November last year. It has been the second year of 360 that has scored for it. PS3 is going through the same cycle as developers get used to it the same as they had to for 360. Let PS3 get a second year in before you judge it.

PS2 kicked the snot out of Xbox because Xbox had nothing but Halo. If you wanted to play anything else, PS2 was the way to go. PS2 is the best selling console of all time and one of only two consoles to sell over 100million units. The other? PS one.

Sorry...the PS2 was the least powerful of all the consoles that came out last gen.

The Dreamcast, Xbox and even the GC were all better machines.

Sure, all the games were released on the PS2. If that is your defenition of an amazing system, then yes, the PS2 did have all the other systems beat.

I guess people believed all the Sony lies last gen (I'm glad to report that I did not...I bought a Dreamcast and an Xbox), but this time around people wised up.

I have a lot of respect for all the PS2 fanboys that purchased a 360 this generation.
