Simple question. If next gen MS doesn't have Halo can ir survive or is MS sales only because of Halo? I say they can if Fable 2 turns out to rock, but they need some new HUGE franchises to do it.
um... why do people keep saying that halo is the end of the franchise? its not its just the end of the story arc. Besides, Gears can always pick up the slack.
old franchises are rarely killer apps (Ninty excluded), I think MS is smart to focus efforts on something besides halo. Next gen (aka 8th gen) won't be won by the MGS, GTA, or Halo IPs, but by new IPs out of left field.

read my post, I said IF! I never said it wouldn't be there, just that if Halo wasn't. It may or may not be, that is up to MS.
They'll go the nintendo route and keep making rehashes after rehashes blemishing the franchise name, but they'll survive. They'll go the route of Mario. Great games occassionally, but the incredible number of meaningless games trading on the Mario name ruins the franchise alot.

My comment was generalized to the whole concept and whom ever chooses to believe that may be the case.
You can hardly blame me for assuming your comment maybe directed at the TC. And I have no idea what MS is doing after Halo Wars, but I have heard rumors of another Halo title after wars this gen.

I hope Microsoft pulls out instead of making gears the flagship franchise. The game isa joke..MP sucks and thats supposed to be the best part about it.
Anyway, Peter Jackson is working on a Halo trilogy of his own, didn't Bungie also say Halo 3 is the end of Master Chief and not necessarily the death of Halo?
yes they could. the 360 is the leading console without a halo yet. the fact that they could dosn't mean they will. there will be halos 4,5,6,..... no way is ms going to kill that cash cow. the said last in the storyline, not even the last in the series much less last in the franchise. they just need to develop another enemy to fight against.
