Can the 360 do killzone 2 like graphics?

i think the wii could do those textures.....jk :P

but really it's a matter of who is devolping the game and how much time they out into the graphics..i really dont care because i'd be satisfied with everything looking as good as gears 1

We just saw the GeOW trailer and it looks better than gears........but not a whole lot more and although it looks a little bette than the killzone 2 video, the game is now just onalpha stage and will probably pass the trailer they showed in 05, in terms f graphics. so can the 360 do killzone 2 like graphics and pass it?bigevil_rashek

Actually if Gears 2 looked as mediocre and empty and small and with mediocre textures as Killzone 2, i would sell my 360

Having both systems I am looking frward to both but KZ2 looks better, some of the textures need work but the guns and characters look great.

Many of you say that there is more going on but you do realise that all the enemies on the ground and the large monsters on screen were scripted right? The only enemies you could shoot were the 3 on screen at a time. the aim did not even go red when it went ovetr the enemies on the ground. it was just part of the scenery!

KZ2 looks better. maybe its possible on the 360, it depends how much space it takes up. though i would not be suprised if it cant.

Having watched both gameplay videos KZ2 was just better, the animations and explosions were way better, like the way the enemies react to getting shot so realisticly, and the blood effects are better and more realistic, the way that guy waves his arms when he flyes through the air (the result of a grenade exploding) is great. The guns look amazing, the lighting effects are great, the textures are pretty good, but need some polishing.

Overall KZ2 does look better. the thing is some of you are fooled with the scripted scene and addition f colour that gears looks much better than the last, which is does not really.

Having seen both gameplay videos I have to say they both look amazing. Imo Gears 2 looks better, it looks alot cleaner. I look forward to playing them both.lazerluke

anyways, about the topic, i think gears2 has maxed the xbox360, cause if its not, were gonna see gears2 par with kz2 but it didnt. while PS3 in the meantime, are being studies my a lot of developers and taking their time to fully utilize the use of the technology. eg guerilla games.

u cant argue about how gears2 have more things going on at the same time cause kz2 has done that already.

You have to remember that the console they are developing for is a **** to develope for, how many delays already and the number climbs every week...

I can, and feel perfectly content about it, as many amazing games were in alpha for RIDICULOUS times (looks at half-life 2, mgs4).

I'm not saying kz2 will deliver like half-life 2 did(hell, it'll prolly be AA), but if they're willing to take time into the game (same can not be said about resistance 2 or gears 2, which look nothing more than the same game with just newer guns, i still dont understand how people are content with that btw, as i saw almost nothing groundbreaking in the gears2 trailer), then that's one of the few things fanboys of that game can be proud about.

Killzone 2's textures at least look real while Gears 2 textures look clay plastic like. K2 for the win.

the video for Gears2 was great and graphics look really sharp and smooth.. (this coming from a PS3 fan)... however I still believe that KZ2 has the edge at least from the 2 vids... there was so much going on during the latest gameplay vid and not scripted stuff but actual stuff... I know lemmings will deny it till the end but in reality both are great games and Gears2 doesnt have the ege graphically over KZ2, its vice versa...

i can see where you're coming from but i'm saying alpha stage. mgs4 wasn't in alpha over 3 years. idk, i'm still kinda mad at sony about the kz2 trailer in 05, all games in native 1080p, and HOME.

on gears 2.. you're wrong about that... graphics are improved, not greatly but still looks quite a bit better, color looks great, game looks like it's running at or close to 60 fps. new chainsaw battles, body shield, and the sheer number of locust on the ground.

I only own a PS3....but I have played the first gears and I have watched the Gears 2 Trailer on TV. (for some reason it looked much better and smoother on T.V. than these website videos)

Gears 2 looks f'n nice to me.....but some who finished Gears 1 might not be as amazed because they have seen all of what the first Gears can do.....

but having said that Killzone looks better in general and if you visit tech gaming forums (B3d) you know it is pushing more technology....

but Gears is an Epic title based of an engine not specifically made just for the 360.... what I'm looking forward to is seeing what Rare is cooking up....with its R1 engine I keep hearing about, built specifically for the 360..... should be amazing.... I believe they will be showing Banjo in a couple of days.....

Alpha is the longest stage in game development, it's where the game is created from ground up.

Yes they can given the amount of time. As you could see Killzone 2 is taking hella years to come out because they really want to focus on graphics more than anything else. Give a developer time and money and depending on the dev, they might make a master piece.

Which one looks better to you is just a mater of tastes. But KZ2 is technicaly more impressive than Gears2, saying otherwise is just ignorance.

Edit : That said, yes i do think the 360 is capable of KZ2 like graphics given the time and budget to develop the game.
