# is it possible at this point that the WIIU can get back on track?

This is How id do it.

1. Relaunch the system with a WIIU Lite version Get the screen costs under control. smaller but better, retail price $250

Old version $200 fire sale with a game

2. Every 1st party and select 3rd party 3DS games get up ports or WIIU HD versions. If there was a pokemon Z version or and FIRE emblem HD versions on the wiiU this Christmas, the system would have a lot more robust of a library.

3. Going forward every hand held game gets Money for a Console version NINTENDO needs it own ECo system. I would pay money for a link between worlds HD version VIA online store

4. OPEN the Money hats. Get a Capcom 5 situation going. GET square on a NORMAL Console version of Dragon quest! where the heck IS Final fantasy crystal chronicals! Start friggin buying studios!

If they just renamed the damn thing it would do wonders. The confusion is what is killing the console. Call it Wii 2 even. Anything......

the wii u needs exclusives, not hd ports of 3ds games that would cost $20 more

@GoldenElementXL: Rubbish. Keeps being said, as if a simple name change would be a bandaid over all of the significant other problems the console has.

They shouldve done an aggressive price cut before the ps4/x1 launched and unveiled zelda

I probably would have urged Ubisoft to bring up Red Steel 3 and get GrassHopper to make No More Heroes 3 and get Platinum to bring up Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, but also put Anarchy Reigns on the System with a WiiU Exclusive Black and White mode in the game and have the Cover pay homage to Wii's Madworld (since it's somewhat of a sequel).

I would have the Wii's Shopping channel be transfered over to eShop so all of the games can be purchased through it.

I would enable WiiU to have DVD and Bluray movie support.

and I would make the WiiU chat function part of Miiverse and have Miiverse function in all of the games so the service is more like Steam to where you will see your friend's Mii icon indicating if they're online or not and have Chat Messages or "Phone" Calls appear on screen so you don't have to check Miiverse a thousand times to see if you got a call missed or if someone is talking to you.

that's how I'd make WiiU better.

Though it's unrealistic since Ubisoft probably doesn't want to do anything like Red Steel for WiiU thanks to ZombiU doing poorly (and Red Steel 2).

GrassHopper more than likely is making a No More Heroes 3. Platinum Games is too busy with Bayonetta 2 to really be doing anything else I believe.

and integrating the Wiishop to eShop would be more frustrating since some games probably wouldn't transfer too well or licensing would be a bigger issue (ex: Chrono Trigger is licensed for Wii use and not WiiU use. etc etc politics and lawyers and such).

the Miiverse stuff and DVD/Bluray playback can still be done I believe.

  1. re-brand the wii u to the wii 2 or advertise the wii u is Nintendo next gen system
  2. advertise the wii u!
  3. make a wii u only Pokemon game!
  4. new first party ip
  5. make a whole division on improving 3rd party support!
  6. bigger hard drive
  7. faster progress on first party games

It's good you don't run a business.

Nintendo is already doing what they need to do to fix it: 1) cut the price, 2) release games people want and 3) try to distinguish the difference between it and the Wii.

  1. Already marketing that
  2. If you'd watch TV they are.
  3. Gamefreak has stated more than once no.
  4. Wonderful 101 isn't enough apparently
  5. Make a 1st party studio to get 3rd parties involved! Let's forget they're already giving WiiU dev kits out for free.
  6. Any USB supported device can be memory for WiiU
  7. They're going fast already. The releases a delayed only so they can be more spread out.

so you're advice is to just for Nintendo to spend their way out of it? That's not really an idea. Also with the Vita-esque HD port idea you do realize that it would mean less new original games right?

I do not feel that anything can be done, I think Nintendo needs to go ahead and continue to make their mistakes, so that they can learn from them. Only I feel with Nintendo, it will be a long period of time before they finally learn from their mistakes. At the moment there is nothing I want for the PlayStation 4, but there is for the Wii U, but overtime I can see there being way more I want for the PlayStation 4. All I really want for the Wii U at the moment is Super Mario 3D World and I have no idea when Mario Kart 8 is coming out. I can see the Wii U possibly lasting this generation, but I can see Nintendo continuing to make mistake after mistake and not listening to feedback entirely.

The newest predictions for the wiiu final sales say that it will have Gamecube type numbers. Just go with it. The GC was a very profitable console for Nintendo, even more profitable than the ps2 was. My advice for Nintendo is to maintain quality control and release great software just like they normally do. If there is money to spend, spend it on developing software, not deep price drops and advertising.

Easy things to fix

-Put in a proper unified account system, you are the only one that doesnt have one.

-Take away region locking, you are the only one that still does this.

-Offer price protection to retailers so your games dont stay at 50-60 dollars for 2+ years, you are the only one that doesn't do this.

Harder things to fix

-Get elite engine building studio's to visit your first party devs to help ease the transition to HD, Platinum Games would work but they are busy making games for the Wii U.

-Stop relying so much on Mario, have your best studio's try and make a system selling new IP that everyone can get excited about.

-Try hiring elite hardware engineers from Samsung/Sony/Panasonic to see if they can shrink the cost of hardware with a better design.

-Make a deal with AMD because you are getting charged way to much for your parts.

Fire sale and new ips are the only solution. Since this is the 3rd time Nintendo made the same high cost/no games mistake in the last decade, maybe finally learn from this.

I clicked on the thread thinking you had shitty ideas but after reading it, not so bad.

I would adjust a couple of things but light years ahead of what Nintendo is doing now.

Wii U light (not necessarily a smaller touchscreen) for $250 or less is a great idea.

Also porting 3DS games in HD is a great idea and i've been hoping Nintendo does it for a long time now.
