Can we all acknowledge that Halo...

Certainely no arguements here, I think it's a fantastic game, one of my favourites.

But I don't think you'll get all the Sony fans to agree. Not by a long shot.

I've never had an Xbox, and I never paid attention to the Halo hype. But 2 months ago, I got Halo:CE for my PC.

It changed my life. IT was Freakin amazing

Most people do, although i know some people who enjoy mustard on them, i think thats just wrong, and mustard should stay on hotdogs.

to be honest i had a sudden rush of blood, couldnt resist...many people dont know that though...however technically your point is just as irrelevant to this topic as the creator didnt start a ' is my name correct or not topic' he asked if halo can be considered a great game, which to anyone who isnt a cow can admit that it is great

It gets bashed so much but Halo: CE is was really a remarkable game, and it is still pretty good today. Halo 2 is on the other hand is a former shadow if its predecessor, but it is still pretty fun on occasions. So, put quite simply I think that Halo 1 deserved its praise, and Halo 2 to a much lessor extent (mostly for the multiplayer anyway).DrinkDuff

Well, if we go by that, then there isn't a single good game made yet...because there will ALWAYS be someone who will hate something, no matter how great said something is.

Right, and i can see how my post is mildly irrelevent but i figured id say it because system wars is a good place to tell people things, as someone will start to read my post thinking its about halo and then when they finish they say, damn, it wasent, but at least i know something new now.

Indeed. If it is a commonly shared opinion, it is often a high quality game, now whether that means it is a fun game for you all depends if you like the gameplay or not. I think it is funny that the only reason Halo gets bashed so much is because it is so popular. If it was any other game, people would say they don't like it very much and drop it.DrinkDuff

Yes, I will gladly acknowledge it is a good game, but underneath all of the uber hype, I personally think that as a game in general, it just does not hold the weight the way that the first one did at the time it came out. So many different shooters have came out since, and after Halo 2 came out, it seemed to have lost alot of it's appeal for me at least.

But I still completely dig the game, and I hope that Halo 3 will be spectacular....but my expectations are only a little slightly above average for it at best. We shall see I suppose.

I think Halo is a victim of success. People love to hate things that are overly popular. I think if the game was more of an underground franchise, it would be more of a cult classic, andthere would be significantly less bashing.

I honestly found it quite unenjoyable. I just don't get all the hype.

If a game get´s great reviews AND big sales... it´s a good game.

Halo is a good game.

Anyone who tries to say they aren't influenced by their surroundings are kidding themselves.

The first Halo was one of the greatest gaming experience I've had, at the time it just completely blew me away.

Halo 2 was a dissapointment, and I wasn't too fussed over the Halo 3 beta.

i dont like it, never have never will. i dont like run and gun online it gets old. its a fun single player game for awhile then it just gets repetitive online. I like more tactical realistic shooters like socom, and rainbow six.
