Poll Can Xbox Survive being the only system without VR? (40 votes)
Now that Nintendo and Valve joined the VR world, and with new headsets from Occulus, the Xbox is the only system that doesn't support VR. Will this hurt Microsoft?

Ms has stated that they aren't doing VR untill it's wireless, cheap and good. The x1x was VR compatible at launch, probably for an exclusive headset. Im guessing they failed to produce anything at the time that was good enough. Now that the tech is here for wireless headsets they might have VR next gen. However the price is the only thing holding it back.
VR isn't needed to succeed but VR isn't a flop either. So I'm not voting.
Nobody cares about Xbox anyways.
The brand is dead.
I wouldn't say it's completely dead yet since there are a few lems around fighting for their lives but it's definitely on life support and most of the gaming community has moved on from Xbox. Xbox has become irrelevant and isn't meaningful competition to either Sony or Nintendo.

Sure Xbox caters to the lowest common denominator.
Let me rephrase. Xbox is dead to rational gamers.
100% Fact.
Yeah I think they can survive without VR. I wouldn’t say that VR is necessarily a ‘flop’ but I think that it’s more of niche product. Having said that I’m kind of expecting their new upcoming consoles to have VR support.
I don't why PC players would get a VR. I know that Valve isn't just for the PC players but most PC players recognizes them and Nintendo doesn't even have a full-fledged VR but they like to market it as a "VR" LOL
You know a thread is shit when knight k & quacknight are here circle jerking each other lol.
And PSVR is one of SW best jokes, keep'em coming :)
I'd say so, but I may be biased as I own both the PSVR and an Oculus Rift Devkit and find that I get nearly 0 use out of either of them. Astrobot and Tetris Effect were both pretty neat for a hot minute on the former though.
I have no need for VR, its straight up not important to me.
I love gaming but everything about VR screams cringe, reminds me of those fat fucks in the wall-e kids movie, where all the humans just float around in space hooked to headsets laying back in chairs being cheeto lords. I just think strapping on a head set with motion controls is straight up goofy, unnecessary, and is more of a gimmick than anything at this point.
I'm pretty sure the next Xbox (Anaconda or Scarlett, whatever the name is) will be compatible with VR. Whether VR will be a big part of MS's roadmap remains to be seen, but it shouldn't be too difficult to make their next powerful system able to link with a VR headset (or even VR headsets from other vendors).
@knight-k: @son-goku7523: VR hasn’t taken off in any capacity so MS is wise to keep away from that dumpster fire.
Lol @ the jealous sony fanboys giving each other reach arounds in this thread. Probably the same person too.
You call VR a "dumpster fire" because your Flopbox lacks it and yet you have Kinect in your avatar, lol what an idiot.
Even more ironic when you say people are jealous of your shitty Xbone with its lack of games and lack of VR. Xbox has nothing for anyone to be jealous of, it's a dying brand with little to no worthwhile exclusives.
@son-goku7523: So why do you post in Xbox threads then?
It’s called jealousy.
I like to laugh at flops and the fanboys like you that damage control for them.
It's called laughing and pointing at a train wreck .
@Ant_17: that would be hilarious.
@Sevenizz: ms has had their own line of vr headsets and are still developing new ones. It just wasn't for Xbox.
Yup, Xbone is trash and MS would rather support Windows 10 with VR than the failing Xbone.
Shows you how little MS thinks of the Xbone.
@son-goku7523: x1x was ment to support VR though, Phill didn't want to release it after they worked out that it couldn't be wireless and cheap. That's why they supported it only from the sidelines. They also helped develop VR headset for the US military. VR is coming to the Xbox. The question is when.
@son-goku7523: Nope, it’s called jealousy.
LOL, what a clown. Your console has no exclusives. I can play all its shitty games on my PC with better graphics and no need for XBL fees.
I'm not jealous of being scammed by a shitty console with no games lol.

Phil lied then. I remember the clown saying Scorpio would have high fidelity VR back in E3 2016. He then proceeded to develop VR for Windows 10 and the military and ignored the Xbox he promised VR for. I have no doubt they will bring VR to the future Xbox but it just goes to show how shitty the current Xbone is. MS will be joining the VR party late on consoles like they always do.

He addressed it though, he didn't ignore it. Because it wasn't wireless and/or cheap for the average consumer.
@npiet1: I don’t care if he “addressed“ it, he lied. You don’t come out and make a promise like that and then fail to deliver. If Sony did something like that lems would chew them out. If he knew he couldn’t keep the promise he shouldn’t have made it in the first place. Now the Xbone is the only system without a VR solution. You know shit is sad when even Nintendo has some kind of VR solution for the Switch and Xbone is the only system left out lol.
@son-goku7523: Nope, it’s called jealousy. Corporate jealousy which is odd because the brand you champion doesn’t give a shit about you either. Let’s look at the definition of ‘jealous’
resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself
It’s ok to express a common human emotion. It’s natural for children.

Earth to delusional lem, Xbox One is a failure and isn't enjoying any advantage over the competition.
It's in last place and about to get overlapped by the Switch lol.
You are actually describing you emotions in this thread, it's only natural for you to be jealous when your favorite console is in last place with the least amount of games and no VR.
VR is about as unimportant to me as jrpgs. A vr jrpg would be my ultimate nightmare.
Xenoblade games would be way better in VR. Same with Octopath Traveler. Being in these amazing worlds is one of the main benefits of VR.
@darthbuzzard: Personally, I'd rather have my fingernails ripped out, whilst being forced to listen to Celine Dion, but as always theres some people who would like that too.
Come on OP. Like you really even care about VR? Even when Oculus Rift was revealed I was like "Yeah this is not going to catch on." VR like the motion controls sound cool but no one really liked them enough to stay. The most common complaint about both tech is there is no tactile feedback which I guess people gave a crap about. Then on top of that motion controls and VR tech when it came to gaming was just abit too all over the place when it came to accuracy. So yeah VR is cool for the gaming enthusiasts but when it comes to staying around it was never going to have a true mainstream appeal imo.

Man, your taste in gaming is pretty bad.

It's gen 1 dude. Did you see consoles take off in just 3 years? No... so why would VR? It obviously will take off. Nothing can stop that. But that won't happen for another 5+ years.
I don't really include labo vr as a proper experience it's more novelty. Surprised ms haven't announced oculus support but they obviously have other ideas right now.
@darthbuzzard: Most people would disagree. Jrpgs are niche games, that dont interest the vast majority of gamers. Not only does the genre mot interest me, but I genuinely cant handle the stereotypical jrpg hero; spikey haired Male figures with no noses, and doe eyed females with mostly giggle inducing enemies. Add to that the laughable dialogue and translation from Japanese.
Same goes for 90 percent of anime cartoons. Awful.
Not saying you have bad taste in gaming because you like them, but saying I do because I cant stand them is kinda silly....because everyone has different tastes.

Never mind, I thought you said you liked JRPGs, which would conflict with the idea of VR adding to the games I listed as they are JRPGs.
