Hey, I'm thinking of getting the Xbox one but I've heard from people that you can't switch the console off and It only goes to sleep mode. Is this true? And can I just switch off from the PowerPoint if you can't do it from the console.
Thanks :)

What an atrocity.Yes it can turn off. You just can't turn off Kinect when x1 is on. But Kinect can go in sleep mode.

You can switch it off from the Powerpoint Office 13 app here.

Just trying to give back to the community that raised me yo.
I know this was a bad joke, but someone should point out that the logo is a capacitive touch button for power. That is one thing that worries me about this console. I don't see a power button anywhere.
I don't want my electricity bill to go up. So unfortunately, I'm gonna have to skip this console.

I would think so. the Xbone could probably have been turned off even when it had its disliked features.Â
I just read this, This better not be true!!!! http://www.gamenguide.com/articles/7752/20130802/xbox-one-remain-standby-mode-10-years-straight.htmhardyz200
Looks like I was right. The lack of On/Off button really did mean the console would be always on. This is not good.

Anyhow, yes, the system an Kinect can both be shut down completely. It was already addressed in previous interviews but further details will be coming soon.
"Yes, you can turn the system completely off," the Microsoft rep said. "This would use no power and turn everything off. Well share more details about how it all works later."Â http://kotaku.com/xbox-ones-kinect-can-turn-off-microsoft-says-noting-510100564
Does it have a POWER BUTTON? Does it plug into a POWER OUTLET? If you know the answer to these 2 questions, then you have your answer.Hey, I'm thinking of getting the Xbox one but I've heard from people that you can't switch the console off and It only goes to sleep mode. Is this true? And can I just switch off from the PowerPoint if you can't do it from the console.

Thanks :)
Any electronic device you leave plugged into your outlet uses electricity you know. If your PS3 is plugged in right now it's using power. Guess you need to throw it into the trash now. lol!!That is one thing that worries me about this console. I don't see a power button anywhere.

Im not trolling, Its just that i wanted a clear answer and you just gave it to me so thank you.
Nope. Even if you plug it from the wall the Kinect uses a wireless energy transfer unit (WETU)to keep track of your daily life. There is simply no turning off...ever.Â
