cant decide, ps3 or xbox...

first of all, yes, i know there r lots of these threads. but i would like to know people's opinion based on my situation.

basicly, ive decided to get a new platform. there are only 3 to choose from right now, and i decided i didn't really want a wii, since its more fun with friends, and i can just go to their house. that means its basicly down to ps3 and xbox. right now, im leaning towards ps3, because of gran turismo 5, which is my fav game of all time. xbox on the other hand, is a lot cheaper, and also have decent racing games. many other popular games are shared on both platforms, so its really hard to decide. any advice? thanks a lot.

Let your game tastes and the exclusive games (now and the near future) light the way.It was a no-brainer to pick a ps3 for me , but you must search from within young grasshopper to find your fate.

I can't give you a specific answer. All I can say is you'll probably be satisfied either way. I think a game like GT5 can easily persuade any racing fan to purchase a Playstation 3. If I was a big fan of the racer like you(and I love the franchise) this is indeed a tough situation. But the Forza series is definitely coming into it's own. If Gran Turismo has always been that game which determined the console you purchased(since the PSone days) then it's easy for me to tell you that the PS3 is the way to go.

Other then that, I took a chance on the Xbox 360 a year and half ago. Unlike Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy is a game from a thrid party developer. I've been a officer of the Final Fantasy Experience for almost 3 years now. Final Fantasy XIII coming to Microsoft's console is a miracle for me. With little things like that happening on the Xbox 360, a game franchise like Forza can be just as good. You indeed have a tough decision. :(

I believe that a more closer in spection of the XBOX 360 and PS3 you will see a big gain on behalf on SONY. The reason is

1. A BlueRay Player will now durring the holidays will run you $200 dollars (HDDVD is DEAD)

2. Free built in wireless modem for online play (big plus for mobility) $99 for a 360 wireless adapter

3. XBOX 360 failure rate (type in XBOX 360 technical problems in wiki.com)

4. PS3 can have a separate OS installed like Linux

ps3!, it has better exclusives, YOU CANT MISS OUT ON KILLZONE2!
