Capcom On Board With Full Switch Support After Ultra Street Fighter 2 Success

It's a bit sad that this is actually what Capcom used to 'test' the viability of the Switch market, but here we are. At least they are on board now.

No but seriously, I hope they consider bringing Monster Hunter XX over to the West.

Good for them realizing the Switch has an audience willing to pay up big-time for weaksauce ports.

This game sold surprisingly well. So much for all the internet people who said they wouldn't pay that much for Street Fighter.

@Bread_or_Decide: The people complaining about the $40 price tag didn't say nobody would buy the game though lol from what I saw. They weren't going to buy it, kinda a big difference.

At any rate I guess it's good to see Nintendos fanbase is full of fools willing to throw their cash at any old cash grab.

Kind of a crap way to test the waters, but my thanks goes out to all the people that bought it. Looks like it will lead to more games on Switch.

Well that's cool that they are board for the Switch as I really like Capcom and enjoy most all of their games. While I admit that Ultra Street Fighter II is on the pricey side for what it is I still plan on picking it up when I get a Switch because the game itself is pretty damn good. As for what other games will be put on the Switch if there's an Xbox One version of that game then I'll probably just stick with that version however you never know what they might do with a Switch version so there's always the possibility of me getting that version as well.

Glad to see both Capcom & Nintendo are on board supporting each other. Maybe now, can we get a Nintendo vs Capcom fighting game crossover for once cause SSB is getting kinda lame without a crossover at least.

Meh I don't play many Capcom games, I guess a REmake port would be nice.

But I hope other devs are taking note and planning games.

I'll be interested in seeing some new titles released from them, or even some MH titles (considering i've never played them).

I'd love to see a return of the Breath of Fire franchise so if making somewhat more scaled down BoF game on the Switch is less risky for them then I would be ok with that.

@aroxx_ab: they still are crap, i stll think they wanted 1 million sold. But possibly changed their mind when they saw the Switch numbers for Splatoon 2, and possible success for Monster Hunter XX for August in Japan.

I suspected that this would have been a hit.

Switch owners are dying for games and Capcom gave them the only Fighting game before ARMS with Online attached to it.

Sucks that it was $40 though. Game was not worth that much.

Maybe that's a typo, but the SF2 series is by far the biggest money maker Capcom has ever had lol.

As for USF2 outselling SFV, I wouldn't be surprised at all. It's a complete package based on the most popular FG of all time, and it has the "casual" modes that many people enjoy. If/when they port this to PS4/Xbone/Steam, it should easily skate right on past SFV.

@ConanTheStoner: I really can't see it outselling SFV on PS4/One unless it's really cheap. If they try to charge $40 it will be dead in the water IMO.

Off topic, did you hear anything about a big update for SFV, called Super SFV which will have an arcade mode? I read about it just haven't seen anything real about it.

@VFighter. SF5 is on PC / ps4. I'm sure the big update was recently with the inclusion of Ed but been unable to play it due to my account being blocked on Ps4.

Two things about this:

1. Capcom used to mean something. Now they mean cheaping you out for every last penny you have. Hiding an ENDING behind a paywall. You used to mean something.

2. When they take a cutting edge game and put the full thing on Switch time and time again, you know they are telling the truth. Until then, they aint. They are saying the same things the likes of Bethesda said before they released that pissant racing game on wii.

Seriously, looking forward to see what they'll supply and I hope Skyrim on Switch does well for Bethesda too (I want to see Fallout on Switch next, if not 4, maybe 3 and New Vegas).

Not to sound arrogant but I don't play fighting games unless I'm using my TE Arcade stick. To get my attention they should consider re-releasing some of their older classics such as Super Ghouls and Ghosts

SFV still hasnt reached 2 million. A colossal failure imo. Good to see this version doing good, its a fun game to play on the go.

there is arcade stick for switch....if you want to use it for SF2 or the many neo geo games that have been released.

or... i heard you can buy a usb adapter and use any fight stick on switch

....Or you can create your own!
