Capcom: Onimusha and Dino Crisis aren't dead.

If anyone is wondering why Capcom hasn't put out any new installments in Dino Crisis or Onimusha. Then you should read this.

About Onimusha:

"Onimusha is tricky in particular given how Japanese-focused the franchise has been," Svensson said. "When you look at the timing and sales trend of how Onimusha has gone each outing – I won't give you the exact numbers, but let's just say every outing subsequently has been about 60% of the prior - the brand doesn't right now have quite the resilience that you might think."

"While Onimusha 1 and Onimusha 2 are among our more successful titles, Onimusha 3 and Onimusha Dawn of Dreams, not so much," he added.

About Dino Crisis:

"Dino Crisis 3 I think is where it went off the rails if I recall. Dino Crisis' success really was an out cropping of Resident Evil 1 and 2," Svensson explained. "There are discussions, Dino Crisis comes up from time to time, but there isn't any burning desire from R&D or the business side to light that franchise back up again."

Thoughts? I hope they do make an Onimusha, even though I only beat the first one on PS2 (great game) and still have yet to beat Onimusha 2.

Both great series. Loved Onimusha and Dino Crisis 1 and 2.

They should think about rebooting the franchises for the current gen systems (please no DMC-like reboots).

They should be, as far as I'm concerned. Those are two series' that had their heyday last generation and the generation before that, respectively. Bringing them back now would likely end up tarnishing their respective legacies.

I would love another onimusha. I enjoyed all the main entries. Whats werid is that the series never had a solid ending.I would also love a collection of all the onimusha games.

Reading your article didn't really make me feel better about the possibility for a sequel. The way they described Onimusha is the way they described DMC. A franchise that they feel is too Japanese focused and not selling very well. I am prepping for the Onimusha REBOOT where the main characters are cowboys.

As for Dino Crisis they basically say the topic comes up every now and then but it's not worth investing time and money on it. That's not good news.

I hope they make a new one.

Hopefully, they'll make Dino Crisis "3" without multiplayer. I know how Capcom loves multiplayer this gen.

I have always wanted a new Dino Crisis. Considering how worthless Capcom has been lately though I'm not too sure if Iwould be happy about them making another one.

I'd love another Dino Crisis, though I know Capcom will try to butcher it somehow with DLC add ons and multiplayer. Still, if they did make it, I'd still purchase it.

LOL the new Onimusha game will be in New York with beam Sabers and guns so it appeals to western Audience and probably they will replace Nobunaga with a Russian or Muslim terrorist who is trying to Nuke the US because the western Audience doesn't know anything about Japan history and they don't even know who is Nobunaga:P (Knowing how Capcom is doing recently probably thats how they will do it :P)

Dino Crisis 2 was great action game. It's biggest flaw was the fact that Resident Evil camera+controls makes for a frustrating experience. I'd like to see a modern Dino Crisis with RE4/5 camera (with the ability to move and shoot)Got_to_go

I dont know about that. I found every onimusha game great fun I dont get the hate some have for 3 and 4.

I know Capcom is trying to appeal to Western audiences now, but I played, own, and beat all the Onimusha games...way better than the Lost Planet Franchise. Not saying LP is bad, but Onimusha is better.

IGN said what any of us Onimusha fans already knew...Onimusha isn't coming any time soon. Quite Simply, I don't believe COMPANY PR, I believe it when I see something tangible.

I also wouldn't mind a New DC, as long as it's nothing like DC3 (Xbox got that, and dino's in space is dumb. That games existence killed the entire franchise, so thanks a lot.)

As far as someone saying something about the creator not wanting to do it, that would be Inafune...and it doesn't matter what he wants. Anyone else could do it. Okami, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil's are still going on, the original Creator's aren't even at Capcom.

Still, I won't be holding my breath on this happening, and even if something gets announced, I remain skeptical unless the original team designs the game.

Onimusha used to be what god of war and ninja gaiden are today,although if u play them now they are vastly inferior but back in the day it was the bee's knees for action pact sword slashingblacktorn

The werid thing is I have yet to see a counter system like onimusha again. Ya know pressing the button at the exact right time to slice through multiple oppents one after another while looking cool. It was hard to pull off at times but dam did it ever feel good.
