Castlevania GOW is probably going to sell a lot more copies than Enslave Journey to the West, but Enslave is a better game. So if you don't much cash, get Enslave. It is just sad that Castlevania got all the hype when Enslave is clearly a better game.

this is actually true.

although Lords of Shadows has a ****load of varied features, none of them feel particularly well executed or worth going back to, while in reverse, Enslaved is more of your traditional action-platformer and it still accomplishes that "polished" feeling moreso than Castlevania can ever hope to aspire to.

Polished feeling? Castlevania has a smoother framerate and romps the crap out of it when it comes to overall visual quality , Not sure what you mean.

I can't judge Enslaved since I haven't played it, but the demo was a bit "eh". Then again, so was LOS's.

TC, have you played both? At least explain what you liked more.

polished=framerate? news to me :?.

no, i was referring to the overall gameplay. Lords of Shadows is a garbled mess that is overhyped for no other reason than because it's Castlevania.

I don't think anyone's said they've liked it just because it's Castlevania :?.

LOS does have some unpolished bits, but I wouldn't say it's a garbled mess. Mercenaries 2 is a garbled mess.

Castlevainia got all the HYPE? That game has been getting bashed ever since ign and gs gave it a 7.5. If anything I would say enslaved made out better. LOS has been branded a GOW clone and alot of people seem to be snubbing there nose to it. I have herd nothing bad about enslaved. Reminds me I need to go rent that.

if a convulted story constitutes as a "few unpolished bits" then that'd merit an accurate statement.

really, it makes no ****ing sense (especially the ending, spoiler?). there's various contradictions throughout the entire game, and the melodrama at times literally had me facepalming.

I haven't finished the game yet, but yeah, the first time you met Zobek I was all like "seriously Stewart? This is the best you can do?"

I wasn't really talking about the story, but if it makes you think the game is a garbled mess then I can see why you liked Enslaved more. NT is awesome at storytelling. I was leaning more towards the cheap platforming deaths and invisible walls when I meant unpolished bits.

Well having smooth preformance is a part of presentation. Of course a game can still be polished and run like crap (like AC2).

AC2 ran fine for me. AC1 was the one with the cell phone camera framerate.

AC2 had some jitters

Enslaved has the better presentation. The gameplay aspect though is weak.

Cant agree on the castlevania comment. Everything felt well done. Only thing that held it back was more in the tec area.

have you actually beaten both? or is this just an observation? I'm about 75% the way through castlevania: LoS and plan on picking up enslaved after so we'll see if you're right. oddly LoS is doing better on metacritic and they're scoring about the same on gamerankings :X
