Many sheep actually hated the concept when they first learned about Judgement, and this GameSpot review shows why. Good thing that only a few hyped it, so it was not a flop in the likeness of Too Human or Lair. Most of us did not expect this game to score well.

i think that matt and bozon standards have been way lowered over these past 2 years where every time they play something that is actually playable they are like, oh, this works? no way
this game has got plenty of 7's, 7.5 from ign gamespot, are you aware your reviews of wii games, 3 weeks after other media sources dont sound like you played the game, and sound like you're plagirising other reviews? no one comes here anymore for in depth reviews they come here for the forums. gamespot reviews have been garbage for years now, there are better sites out there that play the games and on time (giant bomb) but i couldnt care less about judgement though my friend wants me to rent it so he can beat me online

As a burgeoning Castlevania fan, I find this insulting to everything that Igarashi, Kojima (Ayami) and Yamane have done over the years for the series. They bring in the guy who did Death Note, let him do whatever he wants to the established characters and then make a time-traveling fighter out of it. The least they could have done was just port Order of Ecclesia to the Wii and not wasted everyone's time. For Chrissakes... Alucard looks like a ****ing woman.
While the 360 and PS3 get a full-fledged next-in-the-main-series release... the Wii is stuck with a terrible do-nothing fighter that will just be retconned within a few months.
Not surprised, the Castlevania series is known for making wonderful 2D Action-Adventures and crappy 3D games. Wikipedian
I just finished Lament of Innocence tonight and will have to disagree most wholeheartedly. Both it and Curse of Darkness are fantastic Castlevania games. They may not stack up well against other 3D action titles but they are amazing Castlevania games.
Sheep sure love their sloppy seconds, you can never stop them from hyping these crappy spin-offs:lol:FirstDiscovery
I agree. At least we had awesome games revealed at E3 like You're in the Movies and the incredible shooters like Legendary with their whopping 4.5 and 3.5 scores right? I don't even recall seeing anyone hyping this. The only possible thing I can think of is that SER guy's thread of Wii games to look for, where he's simply listing games.

Despite them being decent games, i still cant help but feel they would have been 10x better if they were 2D instead. The skills in LoI and CoD are really cool(Especially CoD loved the summons imo), adn could be easily implemented in a 2d environment as well.

Like with any 2D series, Castlevania needs to come into the modern period of three dimensions. Metroid Prime showed us that 3D 2D games can be absolutely amazing when done right. Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness were not done "right," they were just done. The 2D formula was translated directly into 3D without taking into account the extra dimension. If the time is taken to make a new 3D game with all the adaptations afforded Metroid Prime, then it will easily be one of the best Castlevania games ever. Next to Symphony of the Night, I feel Curse of Darkness is the second best Castlevania game available. All the things you can do in it from the I.D.'s, to the stealing and combining to the overall atmosphere and design were fantastic elements that should be standard in Metroivania/Castleroid games, 2D or 3D. The gameplay is a little clunky but the overall quality of the game is above most other CV games. Hector comes second to Alucard in terms of badassery. With Trevor and Richter tied for third.
I personally hope this new Castlevania being made by Iga on the PS3/360 will be 3D and Symphony of the Night's direct sequel. Alucard needs to be a protagonist again and be given Devil May Cry quality gameplay. So much more can be done with three dimensions as opposed to two. And a blockbuster next-gen title calls for it. The missed potential in Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness is staggering.

Show me "plenty of sheep actually thinking this will be good". And please, show me "plenty of (sheep) believed that SC Legends could be the next Ninja Gaiden". But even if they did, I don't know what's more pathetic, hyping "sloppy seconds" or hyping a big budget powerhouse title like Sonic Unleashed.
Even though it's probably crap I think that maybe GS were a bit too over critical, with not only this but also sonic unleashed I mean they get terrible ratings when they are just mediocre games that could have been so much better. But then crap games that were always going to be and are worse than sonic unleashed and Judgement like the new Destroy all humans gets a 4. Also the the Wii seems to like bringing great and well respected franchises down, for example Castlevania Judgement and it's 3.0 and Soulcaliburlegends and it's 3.5.
