Casuals Thoughts on PS3

So today when I was hanging out with a group of my friends, we got into the conversation of videogames. Well, one of my friends was talking about how he knew someone who bought 2 Wii's at launch and sold one for about $800, which he used to buy a PS3. Then one of my friends just immediately burst out saying, "Well that was stupid, the PS3 sucks" and about 4 other of my friends just immediately agreed with him. They all went on saying about how much better of a console the 360. Now, I made a resonable argument about a 360 and PS3 comparison to shut them up and talked about some games commin out for the PS3 and told them too look it up. I own both systems, but apparently this is what casuals in the gaming world think of the PS3. With its expensive price tag and lack of a great game library people immediately shoot it down.

Is anyone else seeing this?

yeah 2 of my friends have a wii and 2 have a 360 and one of my friends have a ps3, all my friends laugh at the one who bought a ps3 and i dont understand why it's really not that bad

my friends arent like that at all. 2 of my friends have a wii and both hate it and want a PS3. 1 of my friend has a PS3 and a wii but also hates it and regrets buying the wii. 1 of my friends has an xbox(original) and gamecube and wanted a 360 for gears but after playing warhawk he changed his mind. the rest of my friends have PS2s but want to get a PS3.ninersfan343

hmmm well its nice to see some different oppinions, but what I'm just wishing is people could be open to all three systems. I own all three, and it kills me to see people ragging on any of the systems, because they're all great in their own way.

you really have it in for the 360, eh zeke?

as for the casuals, i still hear of many flocking to the playstation brand simply because its what they know, much like people stuck to Intel or dell for so long. it will change with time, but a brand as strong as the playstation isn't going to die off over night, or even in one console gen. the 360 would have to win this gen for the ps4 to not be taken seriously next

Well, I know it's backwards compatible. The fact of the matter is though, since the PS3 doesn't have many great exclusive games to the system, people don't see a good enough reason to stop playing their PS2 games on their PS2 and dropping $600 on a new system they aren't going to use much. I'll be honest, my PS3 is getting half the attention(if that) that my 360 gets. I can't wait for a lot of these PS3 games, but right now, you have to admit, it is lacking.

Sorry, maybe the topic was a bit off. All I'm trying to say is my friends are casual gamers, not completely serious about it. It's an idea of what I'm seeing in a lot of casuals and I wondering if others are seeing it to

You know whats awesome about my city that has nothing to do but head to the liqour store? The gamers either get PC/PS3/Wii, or get 360/PS3/Wii. It's awesome cause all we can talk about is how good the games are, and not about which system is better, cause we all get to play them. silversurfergold
